This Year, Cupid Got It Right

I have shared with you the resort where we stayed during Valentine's Day but wasn't able to narrate deeper how we spent the day during our stay. I was flattered for days after it, and until now, I still couldn't get rid of the flattery I had when my boyfriend gave me a bouquet of flowers and some surprises in the city as his gift.

Valentine's Day was really a memorable one for me, especially this year that I have spent it with the love of my life, who is mature and kind in all ways possible. I never doubted him since day one and I didn't regret installing that app where I met him because it led us to where we are now. We might have had a very nervous start during our dating phase but today, our love is stronger and strengthened. Although there's risk in loving, loving him is worth the risk.

When we met at the waiting spot where we rode a vehicle towards the said resort, Azi met me first at the nearby cafe to give everything we bought for each other. He bought a bouquet of flowers for me, and the other gift was given when we went to the city and he surprised me by bringing me to a beautiful cafe he thought I would love (and I did).

I gave him a bouquet of flowers, wrapped in black because it is his favorite color, with roses and white flowers, which are his favorite flowers, a capybara plushie (his favorite animal), a cat keychain (his most favorite animal), a black forest cake, and a letter for him containing the love of words I have in this relationship. Everything I gave are his favorite things in life, and I made sure he would love my gifts, which he did.

Valentine's Day was so joyous and different this year. I never thought I would be able to gift someone, aside from my mother, a gift from love, and this year I found someone worthy of these gifts.
Love has always been something I wrote about in poems, imagined in quiet afternoons, and prayed for in silent nights. This year, I did not just write about it, I lived it. And as the days continue to pass after that February morning, I still carry the warmth of that day in my chest, like a gentle reminder that sometimes, love arrives unexpectedly, stays sincerely, and makes all the waiting worth it.
