The Softer Side Of Travel: A Valentine Day Framed By Greenery and Water

Let’s have a quick overview of my San Remigio Beach Club Sports Leisure perception from the previous blog:
This 5.5-hectare resort is truly a must-visit destination in San Remigio. This Valentine’s Day, they offered promos on room accommodations and food, and occasions like this often mean the resort rolls out deals that surely capture the attention of tourists from time to time. The dining options source fresh and quality products combined with an international culinary touch, and every meal promises something exciting or a chance to revisit familiar favorites.

I shared in the previous blog the features such as the beach, the rooms, the restaurant, and the front desk that I saw firsthand during our first hours in the resort. Now I’ll be sharing with you the pool, the green corners, the playground, and others. May you enjoy what you’ll see and consider this resort for your next trip.
After we spent an hour on the beach talking and doing funny things on the sand, we decided to walk around further to explore the place more. It was also getting warmer, so we decided to get up and feel the warmth more through simple activities.

Our first activity was going to the kids’ park and trying their amenities. Some visitors looked at us, wondering what made us think of using this kids’ space, but since there were no rules or prohibitions from the staff, we tried it, making sure we wouldn’t ruin anything. We tried the colorful teeter-totter first. We were so happy using it, and it felt childlike again, for once, as adults. Other stuff like mini slides and colorful toy cars were also displayed but were appropriate for little ones only. Azi insisted on getting inside one of the cars he liked but couldn’t fit, so we decided to take photos outside instead. This kids’ area is colorful and vibrant, but I wondered why there were no kids there at that time. I later figured out they were swimming in the pool.

So we went to the pool and found some catchy corners along the way. First, we found an area for adults containing a volleyball court and some basketball corners with nets. I’m not exactly sure what this area is called, but we actually tried shooting balls there. This green space overlooks the beach, and the greenery perfectly complements the blue waters of the resort. Benches and tables are found here, with healthy trees offering shade to these amenities. It is a perfect corner for conversation and coffee in the morning. Maybe next time we’ll have coffee here. We focused on the basketball corner and worked up a sweat before swimming in the pool. Near it is a cabin called Cena En La Playa, but it was closed at that time. The staff said it contains monuments and historical pieces that make up the resort and its geography. They didn’t state why it was closed, but for sure it is for the better.

Moving along our way, we found the central part of the resort filled with palm trees and a majestic garden. Signs and directions can also be found here to help you navigate the resort independently. The greens from the trees and plants made this corner relaxing to walk through. Farther ahead is a circle-shaped garden containing blossoms and the aroma of February, but we had to head to the pool since we were sweating a lot.

Upon our entrance to the pool, we found a beautiful pathway that leads to the water. The plants are healthy and their colors match the season. A web net or tarpaulin is also installed near the ground where visitors and kids can play, but none of us used it because it was a bit hidden from sight, and only those who noticed it would know it was there. At the entrance of the pool, you’ll see a tarpaulin containing information about the pool, the rules, and the amenities offered. It is best to read it before swimming.

Welcome to the resort pool. It is wide, refreshing, and energetic, with kids and adults swimming around, laughing, and splashing water. You can see in the photos the wide shot of the resort from the pool area. The palm trees and other green plants are very visible, and it was good to know how the resort respects nature and maintains it amidst modernization. Resorts like this deserve recognition for being decent and kind to the environment.

We removed our pants and shoes before going to the showers. We realized we didn’t bring towels with us by the time we were already wet, but the swimming continued anyway. Elephant statues and rattan benches in various shapes are found here, and the pool has a structure at the front center where two slides are installed. The slides are installed on artificial rock formations that make it look like a natural body of water. It adds to the refreshing ambience of the pool, and everybody enjoyed it happily.

After swimming, we went back to our room and ate the sandwiches we had from earlier breakfast. We also took photos of our flowers and gifts for each other. This Valentine’s Day felt perfect and memorable. Moments like this make travel more than just movement from one place to another — they turn simple spaces into personal stories. If you are looking for a place that lets you play, rest, explore, and feel something real, this resort is worth including in your journey. Until the next trip and the next story, may your travels always find both beauty and meaning.
How To Get To San Remigio Beach Club:

Assume you are in the North Bus Terminal in Cebu City where most tourists start their trip towards north. Search for a bus that is labeled "Hagnaya/Lambusan". The bus will take you there and just say you'll stop at "Skina Anapog" and search for tricycle driver that can lead you inside to the resort, which fortunately drivers know where this resort is. And welcome, you arrived at home.!
