Seen Through The Charmera Kodak Lens: Burnout To Sugar Rush and Starlit Conversations

I was so tired from school that ended at 4 in the afternoon, and I traveled to our town and then got home frustrated from pending tasks and tiredness from listening to major subjects I wanted to focus on but couldn’t keep up with because I wanted to sleep. Lol. I wanted to sleep when I got home but I couldn’t, since my body doesn’t recognize the afternoon as sleeping hours, so no matter how I try, I always end up staring nowhere and wide awake. I messaged my boyfriend to meet him outside and asked for some time so I could have a good break from academics and responsibilities, and instead of sleeping, we ate different foods so I could completely rest. Food is better with him.

We met at our go-to ice cream store in our town by the time it got dark, since we prepared everything, including ourselves, before meeting. We ordered rocky road ice cream and cookies and cream sundae, which cost $2 each. Take note that these photos were taken from our Chimer Kodak that my boyfriend ordered online, and we used it tonight because we are so fond of retro-vibe photographs. And it was night, so we thought we would get more old-vibe photos if we used the Kodak.
Aside from ice cream in different flavors, they also sell bread, donuts, and cakes to customers, although the former is the best-selling. Above are the cakes they sell in different sizes and designs, which look appetizing and costly for sure. They also have cupcakes displayed, and since my boyfriend wanted to eat cupcakes, we decided to buy two and eat them with our ice cream. Too sweet, but we promised these would be the last ones for the next whole week. We ate the cupcakes that were so sweet, but the texture really didn’t make us happy because they were dry and firm. I don’t know how else to describe it, but that’s how I felt while we were eating them.

The next store is the Worthy Spot. My boyfriend wanted to eat a meal, or food that has rice, so we decided he would eat at the next spot. He ordered a rice meal with siomai and pastil and enjoyed it so much. I was so full from eating ice cream and cupcakes that we didn’t order one for me.

This is a comfort cards box containing cards that have questions for couples. We always bring these cards whenever we go out so we can have at least one question for each other while eating and get to know ourselves on a deeper level.

The next and last store we visited was Defrost Store, where cold sweets and drinks are offered. Since my boyfriend ate a meal, he needed a good drink to wrap up his dinner. Worthy Spot has drinks, but neither of us likes their drinks, so we decided to go to Defrost to buy our favorite blue lemonade that tastes so perfect in sweetness and sourness.

The staff were busy doing their work and I took a look around the shop to see if there were changes in their tables and designs. So far, there were none, but their spot remains memorable and interesting for customers. They have cozy tables and chairs, and entertaining crew members who always have topics for conversation while they prepare your orders.
After everything, we left the places where we bought food and decided to go to our house and spend good time there. We stayed outside because there was a spot in front of us that my boyfriend likes since it really captures the beauty of the moon and stars at night. We just sat there quietly, letting the night air and soft lights settle our tired minds. It wasn’t grand or planned, but it was enough. Some days don’t need big events—just simple moments with the right person, good food, and a pause from everything heavy. And for today, that kind of rest felt complete.
