Catching Up Over Coffee at Links Cafe
One Sunday, some of my former work colleagues and I attended the baptism ceremony of our colleague’s baby. Since it had been a long time since we last had a get-together, we decided to extend our time together at a café.
After the baptism celebration, we went to Links Cafe, a newly opened shop in Minglanilla, Cebu. I'm always amazed whenever a new coffee shop opens in our town.
Before we went in, we noticed a large window reflecting our images. Naturally, we took the chance to snap a few cute photos. Later on, we found out that we were clearly visible from inside, as the window turned out to be a one-way mirror. Oops! 😬
When we stepped inside, we were pleasantly surprised by how spacious it was. The café can accommodate at least 20 customers at a time, with plenty of tables and chairs available.
Time to place our orders! As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I’m not very fond of coffee because it tends to upset my stomach. So whenever I’m in a café, I always go straight for the non-caffeinated drinks.
Lately, I’ve been into fruity beverages, especially anything with berries! I currently love them, so I ordered their Funky Forest Fruit Mix, which was packed with mixed berries.
Aside from drinks, they also offer cakes and other pastries. A friend and I shared a slice of their Red Velvet Cardinal cake. 😋
The café is full of fun activities, too. There’s a corner with vinyl records on display. I'm not quite sure if customers are allowed to play them on the turntable, but it definitely added a nostalgic touch.
They also have several board games available! We were especially drawn to the Snakes and Ladders set. It brought back so many childhood memories. We enjoyed rolling the dice, advancing through the ladders and getting pulled back down by the snakes.
Overall, it was a lovely and refreshing day filled with laughter, stories, and sweet treats. Reconnecting with old friends in such a cozy and inviting place made the experience even more special. I’m truly grateful for simple moments like these. They remind me that good company and shared memories are what really make life beautiful. 💛
