Auto horse running is amazing when it works. This was something that made RDR2 so much better for me. I still never did finish that one though. So do you and the wife think you will stick with this one?

Yeah, the auto-run is such a helpful feature. Your thumb is already getting quite the workout with this game, so any break from the action goes a long way. That being said, it is not perfect, as there have been a few times where the horse gets lost or stuck in a corner, usually when inside castles.

As we get more familiar with the features of the game and get pulled deeper into the story, it is becoming a much more enjoyable experience. We have played it a few more times since this post, and I think we will stick with it, at least until we finish this Cao Cao storyline.

i think an issue with a lot of games is that they are longer than they should be. sometimes the endless spam of dialogue is put in there in what appears to be an attempt at making the game seem even longer. I tried one or two of the Dynsasty Warriors games but for the most part I found them to be mad button mashers.

I think you might be right about the game lengths and them just trying to fill time. It is a shame considering previous iterations of these gams seemed to have better flow and more interesting cutscenes, much less dialogue-heavy. You are right about Dynasty Warriors, it is very button smashy.

I only have one controller and replacements are $60. I need to be careful with my button mashing choices :)

Yeah, that is understandable. I have perfected a technique where I circle around some of the buttons with my thumb, moving back and forth with minimal finger raising. This technique is gentle on the buttons, reduces thumb strain, and provides effortless combos.
