Breakups or loss of deep seated attachments and relationships can have a profound impact on body both physically and mentally. Below we discuss some ways in which they can adversely affect us:
Fight or flight: Stress from breakup usually triggers a flight or fight response in the person experiencing it, leading to assorted symptoms such as poor concentration, intrusive thoughts, feeling tired excessively etc...
Changes In Food Habit & Sleep: Conflicting emotions disrupt appetite and sleep. This varies from individual to individual some may experience insomnia or hypersomnia whilst others might experience loss of appetite or overeating neither of which is good for overall wellbeing and good health.
Feeling Uneasy & Disconnected: Feeling uneasy and disconnected is quite normal especially when one goes through any kind of traumatic incident, and likewise this stands true for breakups also. One may also become quite isolated as a result of this and withdraw from day to day social sphere of one's personal or professional life.
