Chom Reab Sur 🙏🏻🇰🇭 ! How are you doing? At my place, the temperature has been pretty low lately, the lowest temperature is around 18 Celsius and the highest temperature is 29 Celsius. It’s a bit cold for Cambodia since Cambodia is a country that is wet and dry.

Today, I want to share my first trip in 2025 with all beloved Hivers.

A Short but Sweet Trip to Siem Reap

First of all, I’d like to point out that Siem Reap is one of the most famous places in Cambodia. It is known for Angkor Wat, an ancient temple that is very special to Cambodians and the world. Siem Reap is in the northwest of Cambodia and is about 320 km from Phnom Penh. The province has many temples, beautiful natural places, and a fun nightlife.
My family and I went on a two-day, one-night trip to Siem Reap. There were 13 of us, that included my aunt, uncle, and cousins. Even though it was a short trip, yet for me, it was filled with fun moments and good memories.

Heading to Siem Reap

We slept until late morning, so we left in the afternoon after lunch instead. The drive from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap usually takes 5 to 6 hours. Of course, The road was smooth, and we enjoyed chatting and looking at the scenery along the way. We saw rice fields, small villages, and mountains in the distance.

Around 6 PM, we finally reached Siem Reap. We went straight to the house we had booked since December. It was a big house with six rooms which cost $150 per night.

BBQ Night

After resting for a bit, we started preparing for our BBQ night. We grilled meat, vegetables, and seafood. Everyone helped with the cooking, and we ate together while sharing stories. The weather was nice, making the night even more comforting.

After we finished dinner, My Cousins, my siblings and I went to Pub Street at 8pm, It’s one of the most famous streets in Siem Reap. It was very lively, with bright lights, music, and people from different countries. We tried fried ice cream, which was fun to watch as it was made. Then, we got into one of the best pubs there and had a bottle of beer together ( We were all adults ). Moreover, We also bought bracelets together as souvenirs to remember our trip.

At 11 PM, we returned to our stay. While some were tired and went to bed, the boys decided to jump into the swimming pool. They played and swam until midnight, laughing and having fun.

Visiting Angkor Wat - Exploring the Ancient Temple

The next morning, we woke up early and got ready to visit Angkor Wat. It is one of the most important places in Cambodia and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The temple was built in the 12th century and is the largest religious monument in the world. It has beautiful carvings on the walls that tell stories from the past. Walking around Angkor Wat felt like traveling back in time.

We stayed at Angkor Wat until 2 PM, taking pictures and learning about its history. After that, it was time to say goodbye to Siem Reap. We packed our bags and started our journey back home.

A Short but Special Trip

Even though our trip was quick, it was filled with fun, laughter, and special moments. Spending time with my aunt, uncle, and cousins made it even more meaningful. Siem Reap is a place full of history and adventure, and I would love to visit again someday.

It was a memorable time for me, a great start of 2025 ☀️💕✨
