On a beautiful day, I went for a walk in the morning. I love walking, even though the weather has been hot lately. I was comfortable in my Hive T-shirt and cap. After having coffee at a nearby café, I headed to this place that opened last Saturday, September 20, 2025, and which they named Cuidad Mural.
En un día radiante, me fui de paseo en horas de la mañana, me encanta dar caminatas, aunque el clima esta fuerte estos dias con altas temperaturas, me fui cómoda con mi franela y gorra de Hive, luego que me tomé mi café en una cercana cafeteria, me dirigí a este lugar que inauguraron este pasado sábado 20 de septiembre de 2025, y en el cual denominaron Cuidad Mural.
This place called El callejón Santa Inés (Santa Inés Alley) is the gateway that invites us to explore the oldest part of the city. At the end of the alley, we find the oldest Catholic church in Cumaná, the Basilica of Santa Inés. What is fascinating about this alley are the plants full of flowers that hang from the windows and adorn the houses. Many of these residences have placed planters to add beauty and color to the place, and together with the murals, they create a magnificent panorama.
Este lugar llamado El callejón Santa Inés es la entrada que nos insta a conocer la zona más antigua de la ciudad y al finalizar encontraremos el templo católico más antiguo de Cumaná, La basílica de Santa Inés. Lo fascinante de este callejón son la plantas repletas de flores que sobresalen de los ventanales y adornan las casas. Muchas de estas residencias han colocado materos para agregarles belleza y vistosidad al lugar y junto a los murales hacen un panarama magnífico.
Some murals were already painted on some walls, such as the Basilica of Santa Inés, the Butterfly, and many flowers. This Saturday, and for six days, this initiative took place, combining art, identity, and community participation in every stroke, where all the mural creations pay tribute to emblematic figures and characters from Sucre culture, such as María Rodríguez, Cruz Salmeron Acosta, Gualberto Ibarreto, and Luis Mariano Rivera.
Algunos murales ya estaban plazmados en algunas paredes, como la basilica Santa Inés, la Mariposa y muchas flores. Este sábado y durante 6 dias, se realizó esta iniciativa que une arte, identidad y participación comunitaria en cada trazo, donde todas las creaciones de los murales rinden homenaje a figuras Y personajes emblemáticas de la cultura sucrenses como María Rodríguez, Cruz Salmeron Acosta, Gualberto Ibarreto y Luis Mariano Rivera.
It is worth mentioning that, in addition to depicting these iconic characters of the city, they also colored figures of fish, birds, turtles, cacao, virgins, and indigenous children, which define the culture, identity, and sense of belonging in this mural city.
Cabe mencionar, que además de plazmar a estos personajes icónicos de la cuidad, también colorearon figuras de pescados, Aves, tortugas, Culebras, cacao, virgenes y niños indigénas, que definen la cultura, la identidad y el sentido de perteneciase en esta cuidad mural.
These masterpieces were created by international and local artists from our city and other cities in the country, who did this excellent work in the open air. In addition, at the entrance and halfway down the alley, there is a poem that represents us, recited by Juan Pinto in 1824.
Estas obras maestras fueron creados por artistas, internacionales, y locales de nuestra cuidad y otras cuidades de el pais, y las cuales hiceron este excelente trabajo a cielo abierto. Además en la entrada y a mitad de camino del callejón esta un escrito, la cual es un poema que nos representan y fue declamado por Juan Pinto en 1824.

All the murals bear the signature of the artist who designed them. In one of the galleries is the poet Cruz Maria Salmerón Acosta, who accompanies his poem Azul (Blue) with the sea, fishermen, and birds, elements that identify him as a native of the Manicure coast.
Todos los murales tienen su firma de el artista que los diseño.En una de las galerias se encuantra el poeta Cruz Maria Salmerón Acosta, que acompaña su poema escrito Azul, y también el mar, los pescadores y aves, las cuales son elementos que lo identifican, por pertenecer a la costa de Manicure.
I loved this step today and seeing that my city has spaces where our identity and culture are highlighted in beautiful murals that represent our coastal land.
Me encantó este paso de hoy y ver que mi ciudad cuenta con espacios donde se destaca nuestra identidad y cultura en hermosos murales que representan nuestra tierra costera.

¡Qué belleza! Esta iniciativa es excelente para resaltar lo más autóctono de cada ciudad, he visto que lo están haciendo en varias partes. Hace años que no voy a Cumaná, ¡provoca! Jejeje, ¡saludos!
Si muy lindo en ese lugar históricos y más antiguo de Cumaná, están bellos, véngase pronto y disfrute de todos estos lugares.

La iniciativa me parece hermosa y los murales están increíbles. Sólo espero que nuestros paisanos, ciudadanos y vecinos los conserven tal cual, por respeto y orgullo a nuestra historia y nuestro arte.
