Wednesday walk: around the city in my red shoes (En-Es)

Hello friends, today I am here with a new walk around the city that I love so much: my beautiful Pinar del Río, and let me tell you that this walk was the perfect excuse to wear my new red sneakers for the first time. Although that was not the only reason, since I also had two things to do: the first was to photocopy some documents and the second was to download some movies at the Telepunto (a place that offers internet service).

Hola amigos, hoy estoy por aquí con un nuevo paseo por la ciudad que tanto amo: mi bello Pinar del Río, y déjenme decirles que este paseo fue la excusa perfecta para poder estrenar mis nuevos tenis rojos. Aunque esa no fue solamente la razón, ya que también tenía que hacer dos cosas: la primera era fotocopiar unos documentos y la segunda era descargar unas películas en el Telepunto (lugar que ofrece servicio de internet).

We start this walk at the end of Real Street, the building you see there is the Museum of Natural Sciences, although in the picture you can't see it well it is a place with beautiful architecture, I couldn't tell you the style but I think @yanerkidiaz in one of his posts mentioned that it was baroque style. This area is characterized by wide and very clean streets, it is the very heart of the city.

Empezamos este paseo al final de la calle Real, el edificio que ven allí es el Museo de Ciencias Naturales, aunque en la imagen no se ve bien es un lugar con una arquitectura hermosa, no sabría decirles el estilo pero creo que @yanerkidiaz en uno de sus posts mencionó que era de estilo barroco. Esta zona se caracteriza por calles amplias y muy limpias, es el mismo corazón de la ciudad.

The place where I came to photocopy my documents is "Mikely", but unfortunately it was closed, I guess I will have to come another day and earlier. Although near my house there are several places that offer this same service, there is no doubt that Mikely is one of the favorites, since they offer a very good quality service and the best prices.

El lugar donde venía a fotocopiar mis documentos es "Mikely", pero lamentablemente estaba cerrado, supongo que tendré que venir otro día y más temprano. Aunque cerca de mi casa hay varios sitios que ofrecen este mismo servicio, no hay dudas que Mikely es uno de los favoritos, ya que ofrecen un servicio de muy buena calidad y con los mejores precios.

Not being able to do this, I continued with the next thing on my travel route and that was to go to the Telepunto to download some movies. For this I decided to take the bus station route, as there are many interesting things to see around there.

We started with this beautiful mosaic that alludes to the same station I was telling you about, as if you notice all the people in the mosaic are carrying luggage and the arrows indicate that the station is in that direction. This mosaic covers several houses and is quite large, so I needed three photos to show you the whole thing.

Al no poder hacer esto, seguí con lo siguiente en mi ruta de viaje y era ir al Telepunto a descargar algunas películas. Para esto decidí tomar la ruta de la estación de autobús, ya que hay muchas cosas interesantes que ver por ahí.

Empezamos con este hermoso mosaico que hace alusión a la misma terminal de la que les hablaba, ya que si se fijan todas las personas en el mosaico llevan equipaje y las flechas indican que la terminal está en esa dirección. Este mosaico abarca varias viviendas y está bastante grande, por eso necesité tres fotos para mostrárselos entero.

In front of the mosaic we have this park where the monument to the martyrs is located and just behind it you can see the bus station. Walking along the wall of the station, I noticed this tree that seemed to me the perfect symbol of winter, especially with the cloudy sky in the background gives it a gloomy but elegant look, the truth is that I love the weather like this.

Frente al mosaico tenemos este parque en el cuál se encuentra el monumento a los mártires y justo detrás ya se puede ver la terminal de ómnibus. Caminando junto al muro de esta, me fijé en este árbol que me pareció el símbolo perfecto del invierno, sobre todo con el cielo nublado de fondo le da un aspecto sombrío pero elegante, la verdad a mi me encanta el tiempo así.

Then I went into the bus station to show you this other mosaic of Cuba's national hero, José Martí. I love to see mosaics and works of art of this kind that beautify the city.

Luego entré en la terminal para mostrarles este otro mosaico del héroe nacional de Cuba, José Martí. Me encanta ver los mosaicos y obras de arte de este tipo que embellezcan la ciudad.

Around the bus station there are many stalls with a great variety of products, you can find anything from clothes, shoes, backpacks, beauty products, food and much more. I took pictures of the stalls that were along my way, but there are really a lot of them.

En los alrededores de la terminal hay muchos puestos de venta con gran variedad de productos, por ahí puedes encontrar lo que sea, desde ropa, calzado, mochilas, productos de belleza, comida y mucho más. Le tomé fotos a los puestos que me quedaban en el camino, pero en realidad son muchos.

In these tables you can always find beautiful ornaments made by the artisans, postcards, stuffed animals and other cute details. These tables always attract many customers on special dates such as Mother's Day or February 14, as they always have very good offers for gifts.

En estas mesitas siempre puedes encontrar adornos hermosos hechos por los artesanos, postales, peluches y otros detallitos muy lindos. Estas mesas siempre atraen muchos clientes en fechas especiales como el día de las madres o el 14 de febrero, pues siempre tiene muy buenas ofertas para regalos.

In fact, encouraged by the post of my friend @eduardo900613 in which he showed how he gave his partner a beautiful backpack that he bought precisely in this place, I decided to buy one just like it because I had been looking for one for a while and they were at a good price.

Then I went into this little store where they sell various little things like cloth bags, fans, paper bags for gifts, postcards and notepads of various sizes. I couldn't resist and bought a notepad, since I'm always making lists and writing down things like my ideas for Hive among other things.

De hecho, alentada por el post de mi amigo @eduardo900613 en el cual mostraba como le regaló a su pareja una bella mochila que compró precisamente en este lugar, decidí comprarme una igual pues hace rato andaba en busca de una y estaban en buen precio.

Luego entré a esta pequeña tienda donde venden varias cositas como bolsas de tela, abanicos, bolsas de papel para regalos, postales y bloc de notas de varios tamaños. No me pude resistir y me compré un bloc de notas, ya que siempre estoy haciendo listas y anotando cosas como mis ideas para Hive entre otras cosas.

Then I went on my way, because if I was still there with so many things to see I was going to keep spending money 😅. Finally I arrived to the Telepunto and guess what? Well, it wasn't closed but all the computers were already busy, so I decided not to waste time there and went back home.

Después seguí mi camino, pues si seguía ahí con tantas cosas que ver iba a seguir gastando dinero 😅. Finalmente llegué al telepunto y ¿qué creen? Bueno, no estaba cerrado pero todas las computadoras ya estaban ocupadas, así que decidí no perder tiempo allí y me regresé a casa.

Once I got home I sat down for a few minutes in Independence park to take a break, since I had walked quite a bit. My red sneakers and I had a great day and despite not being able to do what I went out to do the walk was quite entertaining and I ended up with a new backpack and a notepad 😅 so it was worth it.

Ya llegando a casa me senté unos minutos en el parque de la Independencia a tomar un diez para descansar, ya que había caminado bastante. Mis tenis rojos y yo tuvimos un gran día y a pesar de no pude hacer lo que salí a hacer el paseo fue bastante entretenido y terminé con una nueva mochila y un bloc de notas 😅, así que valió la pena.
