The Majestic Hippopotamus.

Another day out on our Safari Tour this time tracking down these amazing Hippopotamus in there natural habitat swelling around in the rivers keeping themselves cool and entertained they are one of the largest and strongest animals in the world they can weigh up to 1,800 kg and get up to speeds of 30 km/h

The equipment used was all Nikon. Early shots with a D70, later shots with 2 x D3 bodies.

did you use 200mm or more ? just wondering how close you can get safely .

Depending on the animal sometimes you can get closer then others then I select what lens I am going to use.

Thank you @ecency for the upvote and noticing my post. I am still trying to get a hold how to use this new platform layout it's very different to the one I used 3 years ago is there any easier version or this is it ?
