Lights, Laughter, & Lasting Memories: Our Afternoon at Quezon City Memorial Circle
There’s something magical about stumbling upon treasures that make you smile. As I was going through my camera roll, I found a few snapshots from a fun afternoon back in 2017, when I explored Quezon City Memorial Circle with two of my good friends, Coleen and Jade. Seeing them made me so happy to reminisce about those times with them! 💖
That day was simple but special. We met up in the afternoon with no solid plan, just the desire to hang out and unwind. Jade is one of those friends who knows so many cool places and loves to show them off, so we let him lead the way! We ended up spending the whole afternoon inside QC Memorial Circle, a large park nestled in the heart of Quezon City.

Quezon City Memorial Circle is a massive park right in the middle of Quezon City, Metro Manila. It’s a free park, open for everyone, and it’s truly a breath of fresh air amidst the busy city. The park itself is always alive with energy. You’ll see families having picnics, joggers making rounds, groups practicing dance routines, some unwinding, others relaxing, and just generally enjoying the open space. Even back then, it was a happy place to be.

Inside QC Memorial Circle, we spent our time just unwinding, taking lots of photos, and wandering around. Speaking of the centerpiece, the park is famous for its iconic 66-meter mausoleum. This impressive monument holds the remains of Manuel L. Quezon, who was the second official President of the Philippines.

We also visited Circle of Fun, a mini-amusement park inside the QC Memorial Circle. We tried out some of the rides and, of course, grabbed some ice cream to enjoy the afternoon.

It’s a bit sad to talk about it now, but the Circle of Fun is actually permanently closed. Back when we visited, it was supposed to be like a small amusement park in the city. The best part was that the rides had the lowest, most affordable fares, making it ideal for students and budget-conscious barkadas. It would have been perfect for families and friends looking for a quick, budget-friendly thrill. Even though it's closed now, we still got the chance to take some cool pictures of the rides and, of course, the park's centerpiece, before the sun went down.

As evening approached, the monument became even more stunning. It's beautifully lit with different colors changing all the time, making it a truly breathtaking sight and a peaceful way to end our visit.

Spending that afternoon at QC Memorial Circle with Jade and Coleen was so much fun. It was a perfect mix of making new memories and happily reminiscing about the old days. Now, looking at these photos from 2017, it makes me wonder what the QC Memorial Circle looks like today. I really wish we can go back there someday to see how it's changed and make new memories. Places like QC Circle remind us how important it is to have green spaces where we can relax, connect with friends, and just enjoy the simple moments away from the city's rush.
