Journey to Ditumabo Mother Falls: A Challenging Path to Enchanting Paradise

Hello, Worldmappin fam! πŸ’– I wish you all well and hope you're having a wonderful day πŸ™

Our trip to Aurora Province was packed with unexpected discoveries and beautiful sights, but one adventure truly stands out as a test of grit and a reward of pure natural wonder: our journey to Ditumabo Mother Falls in San Luis, Aurora Province, Philippines. We heard it was breathtaking, but we quickly learned the path to paradise wasn't easy! If you're looking for challenging, yet refreshing adventure, Ditumabo Mother Falls is a must-see! ✨

From our accommodation, it took us about 1 hour of travel just to reach the starting point of the trek. We knew it wouldn't be a simple walk, but nothing quite prepares you for the actual path.

When we arrived, the weather was gloomy, which actually made us a bit nervous about the slippery conditions. Thankfully, it didn't rain, because if it had, the path would have been even more dangerous.

For safety, having a tour guide is a must here. It's mandatory for everyone, and each guide can take a maximum of 10 people at a time, ensuring everyone gets proper attention.

The trail going to the falls is very rocky and slippery, and you’ll also need to cross shallow parts of the river more than once. The trek itself is quite uphill in places, making it physically demanding. We were glad that the older members of our family decided not to join us once they heard how long and tough the trek would be. Some of our elderly companions already deal with common aging problems like rheumatism, so they wisely chose to stay behind.

4. Rocky Path and River Crossing.jpg

The trek really showed how dangerous it can be. There was one moment we won't forget: one of our tour guides actually slipped! He fell on his back, but thankfully, he managed to touch his head quickly to protect it. We were so worried in that instant, but good thing he wasn't even injured. That incident really highlighted how dangerous the trek can be, especially if the ground is wet. It’s a clear reminder that you really should pay close attention to your pathway every step of the way.

It took us almost an hour of walking before we finally reached the falls. It felt like a really long, tiring walk, and there were moments when we wondered if it would ever end! But still, we braced ourselves and accepted the challenge. There was even this mini waterfall that we thought was already the main one we were waiting for, just because we really didn't know when this challenging trail would finally end.

As we finally reached the waterfall, all the tiredness just melted away. The atmosphere around the falls is incredibly cold, which feels amazing after the challenging trek. And the waterfall itself? It is absolutely breathtaking ✨ The sheer size of it, the powerful rush of water, and the lush greenery surrounding it; it's a sight you won't easily forget. I can confidently say that the trek is truly worth it! πŸ’–

To make the most of the experience, we also swam into the water. I can't forget how clear and refreshing the water was. It was icy cold but so invigorating! Our tired feet from trekking felt instantly relaxed as we dipped them into the cool water.

Our oldest cousin, who sometimes experiences Gout, even said his feet felt "healed" from the pain. That’s how enchanting this waterfall truly is; it’s not just a beautiful sight but a revitalizing one.

This trip to Ditumabo Mother Falls has definitely been one of my best and most adventurous experiences so far. It was challenging, yes, but the natural beauty and the feeling of accomplishment at the end made every step worthwhile πŸ™Œ
