THERAPEUTIC TEARS

Sometimes it's okay to let the tears flow.

Even the steel hearted at one point in life feel the urge to let the tears out of their system, right?

Have you by any chance gone through devastation in life – especially a break-up? I mean you have worked tirelessly to have your emotions align with the peace you crave. The months that stretched to years of working on yourself. Not to mention all the courage it took you to acknowledge and forgive your transgressions. Finally, you can feel the peace resonating in you. At last, you can admit that you have moved on. You are happy with your life now, more like grateful.

But just as you're finally starting to breathe again, the suspect returns – not to apologize, but to prod the wounds that took you years to close. And the funniest thing is, they still have the nerve to victimize themselves. They totally overlook the role they played in your devastation. They can’t grasp how you healed and moved on. They wouldn't understand the turmoil and the courage it took you to get to where you are.
To top it up, they want to control your life. Just like they had before. The questions start pouring down like a hailstorm; how did you move on? Did you get married? Are you dating now? So this is it?

One answer is all you can afford. After all you have been through, all you can say is – “I don’t owe you an explanation, it is my life”. There, that triggers it.
You have touched a nerve. Now their ego is wounded. The next thing you know is the hurtful words hurled your way. Now you are prideful– or so they say. Then there goes the famous proverb thrown your way, “pride comes before a fall”(shouldn't this be in the aspect of boastful pride?).Or maybe yet, the “I leave it/you to God”.
One question though, do you really owe them an explanation? How is the healing entitled to pride? Of course, you are proud of you for taking the initiative to take charge of your life and peace – but not boastful.

You’re being guilt-tripped; they don’t want you believing you deserve the best this life has to offer. However, through the healing journey, you evolved. You now know it’s not worth going back and forth– it will only get worse. You sure know who the captain of your life is, YOU! It’s entirely up to you which path you want to focus on. This time, it's time to tune out the noise – they are only noise to you. You choose silence.
But again you are only human and you can't stop the tears from rolling. You hug yourself as the tears fall, letting your body release the weight it has been carrying. It will only take a moment – it's only temporary, you assure yourself. You pat your own shoulder as you reconcile with your inner hurt self.

Amidst the tears, you find your smile. You look around your life and realize all the positives it has. It is a miracle you never expected – enough to stop the tears. In unison, your body, soul, heart, mind, and emotions let out a sigh, surprisingly, it comes out as a chuckle.
“It is time to take the steering wheel, Captain!” your whole being screams, and dutifully you oblige. Though the tears were inflicted by pain, you admit to yourself it was a therapy session uncalled for. Forward you move, stronger than before.
