Interlocking wooden kittens and rubber devil duckling | Gatinhos de madeira encaixáveis e patinho diabo de borracha [EN/PT]

I took this photo to show the objects that decorate my bathroom and are placed on top of the light fixture above the sink mirror. The light fixture uses a fluorescent bulb; when lit, it illuminates the decorations from below – a small wooden sculpture with attachable kittens and a rubber duck with horns, which gives it a somewhat demonic appearance.

Fiz esta foto pra mostrar os objetos que decoram o banheiro de casa e que ficam em cima da luminária sobre o espelho da pia. A luminária é de lâmpada fluorescente, quando acesa ilumina os enfeites de baixo para cima - uma pequena escultura de madeira com gatinhos encaixáveis e um patinho de borracha com chifres, que deixa com aspecto um tanto quanto demoníaco.

We received the devil duck as a gift from a friend who collects rubber duckies, and although unusual, this was a duplicate model he had. We generally consider the bathroom the natural habitat for this type of toy, although we don't have a bathtub at home, which would fit even more perfectly. But so far, I believe that having only a shower available hasn't attracted any wrath from evil entities or curses. Otherwise, we would have to counter it with what I drew here before in An invented bathroom god.

O pato diabo ganhamos de um amigo que coleciona patinhos de borracha, e apesar de inusitado, este modelo ele tinha repetido. Geralmente consideramos o banheiro como habitat natural deste tipo de brinquedo, apesar que em casa não temos uma banheira, que encaixaria mais perfeitamente ainda. Mas até agora acredito que ter apenas um chuveiro disponível não atraiu nenhuma ira de entidades malignas ou maldições. Caso contrário teríamos que contrapor com o que desenhei aqui antes em Um deus do banheiro inventado.

As for the family of wooden kittens, which were meticulously cut to fit perfectly together, if I remember correctly, they were bought at a craft fair in Montevideo, Uruguay. It was a souvenir from a trip, perhaps our first international one, decades ago, still in the last century. And if my memory serves me right, the small sculpture wasn't colored; it only had the texture of the original wood, and this pink and white paint was applied by my wife sometime much later.

Já a família de gatinhos de madeira, que foram cortados com esmero para encaixarem perfeitamente entre si, pelo que me lembro foram comprados em uma feira de artesanato em Montevidéu no Uruguai. Foi um souvenir de viagem, talvez a primeira internacional, que fizemos décadas atrás, ainda no século passado. E se não me falha a memória a pequena escultura não era colorida, tinha apenas a textura da madeira original, e esta pintura em tons de rosa e branco foi minha mulher que resolveu aplicar a tinta em algum momento, muito tempo depois.
