Cleaning the dust from the camera | Limpando o pó da câmera [EN/PT]

After having my smartphone stolen three times in a two-year period, I decided to stop carrying it everywhere I went. Living in São Paulo city in Brazil, we should ever be concerned by all kind of security issues. Without a cell phone i hands every time significantly reduced the number of photos I took with it, as I used to capture new places, including food, architecture, and landscapes.

I recently noticed that taking photos with cameras, digital or otherwise, has returned, leaving the phone aside. After seeing people showing off their cameras around their necks, I thought I could do the same, rescuing a professional (or almost) digital camera I received as a gift from my wife's relatives from Japan decades ago.

Taking advantage of the fact that I'm back to posting more frequently here on Hive, I decided to check the condition of the camera after such a long period of disuse. I don't even remember the exact last photo I took with it. It was well before the pandemic, and at the time, I was still sharing images on Flickr because I didn't use Instagram much.

I removed the accumulated dust, put the battery back in and tested it, apparently everything is working. It was also the opportunity to make this art for Challenge: Drawing (almost) every day on iPad, using the same observation drawing technique as I did in the posts Self-portrait with blood pressure monitor devices, [Dog resting in the armchair where she almost doesn't Does my dog ​​help or hinder? and Drawing on the iPad: Does my dog ​​help or hinder?.

I remembered a rather unusual coincidence involving the cap of this camera. On a trip I lost it. On the way back, sitting in the airplane seat, while worrying about the lens protection and wondering how I would find a replacement cap, while rummaging around on the floor to better arrange my carry-on luggage, I found a cap that fit perfectly on my camera. I was very happy and surprised, I hope the person who lost it would found my cap or somehow had the same luck as me.

Depois de ter meu celular roubado 3 vezes em um intervalo de 2 anos, resolvi deixar de levar o celular para todos os lugares que ia. Desta forma diminui muito as fotos que fazia com o aparelho pois costumava registrar os lugares novos, incluindo comida, arquitetura e paisagens.

Recentemente percebi que voltou a moda de fotografar usando câmeras, digitais ou não, deixando o celular de lado. Depois de ver pessoas exibindo suas câmeras penduradas no pescoço pensei que poderia fazer o mesmo, resgatando uma câmera digital profissional (ou quase) que ganhei de presente de parentes de minha mulher, quando vieram do Japão décadas atrás.

Aproveitando que voltei a publicar com mais frequência aqui na Hive, resolvi dar uma olhada nas condições da câmera depois de tanto tempo sem uso, nem lembro quando foi exatamente a última foto que tinha tirado com ela. Era bem antes da pandemia e na época ainda compartilhava as imagens no Flickr pois nem usava muito o Instagram.

Tirei o pó acumulado, coloquei a bateria novamente e testei, aparentemente está tudo funcionando. Tb foi a oportunidade de fazer esta arte pro Desafio: Desenhando (quase) todo dia no iPad, usando a mesma técnica do desenho de observação assim como fiz nos posts Auto retrato com aparelhos de medir pressão, Cachorra descansando na poltrona onde quase não cabe e Desenhando no iPad: minha cachorrinha ajuda ou atrapalha?.

Lembrei de uma coincidência bastante inusitada envolvendo a tampinha desta câmera. Em uma viagem perdi ela, na volta sentado na poltreona de avião,enquanto me preocupava com a proteção da lente e matutava como iria encontrar uma tampa substituta, enquanto mexia no chão pra ajeitar melhor a bagagem de mão, encontrei uma tampinha que encaixou perfeitamente nesta minha câmera. Fiquei muito contente e surpreso, espero que a pessoa que perdeu tenha encontrado a minha tampa ou de alguma forma tenha tido a mesma sorte que eu.
