A dog that likes green coconut | Cachorra que gosta de coco verde [EN/PT]

One of my wife's long-time clients, who is a pet sitter, really likes coconut water. Drinking coconut water is a common habit in the Brazilian summer, even in cities far from the beach like São Paulo where we live. Judging by the enthusiasm of the dog Doninha, it seems the custom has spread to pets as well.

Uma das clientes antigas de minha mulher, que é pet sitter, gosta muito de água de coco. Um dos hábitos comuns no verão brasileiro é tomar água de coco, mesmo em cidades longe da praia como é São Paulo onde moramos, pelo entusiasmo da cachorra Doninha parece que o costume passou para os pets tb.

After the humans drink the coconut water, sharing some with Doninha of course, she asks for more and indicates with her paw, knowing that inside the fruit there is still soft, sweet pulp. The images above were captured from a video, shared on Google Photos for anyone who wants to watch.

Depois que os humanos bebem a água do coco, dividindo um pouco com a Doninha claro, ela pede mais e indica com a patinha sabendo que dentro da fruta ainda tem a polpa macia e doce. As imagens acima foram capturadas de um video, compartilhado no Google Fotos pra quem quiser assistir.

And for the dog, the fun with the coconut doesn't end after drinking and eating it. Taking the shell home, we let her use it as a toy. After a few hours of struggle, biting and chewing on the seemingly hard shell, the living room is completely covered in shavings and fibers. But the mess and the cleaning work are worth it for the seemingly happy moments it provides for the animals.

E para a cachorra a diversão com o coco não acaba depois de beber e comer. Levando a casca pra casa, deixamos ela usar como brinquedo. Depois de algumas horas de luta, mordidas e mastigadas na casca aparentemente dura, temos a sala completamente suja de lascas e fiapos. Mas a bagunça e o trabalho da limpeza compensa pelos momentos aparentemente felizes que proporciona aos animais.
