Today's Photo Walk: Peeking Through Windows and Doors
Hello Friends on Hive!!
Today, I'm sharing a few photos I took from my walk this afternoon..
I got curious about the different doors and windows I saw on different houses..
Ever notice how much a window or a door can tell you about a place?
I spent my afternoon walk really looking at them and it was like getting a tiny peek into people's lives and the history of their homes..
It was a fun little adventure in my own neighborhood..
Windows: Eyes of the Home 👀
I saw so many cool windows!!
Some were colorful and others were totally simple..
So I made 2 versions, colored and in balck and white for a little dramatic look..
One window had this really bright blue criss-cross lattice with a shock of hot pink behind it (maybe the owner's curtain)..

The combination of the cool pattern and the vibrant color made it pop right off the plain wall..
The black and white version had this neat look of the pattern that gave the wall a nice texture and contrast.. It felt classic and calm..
Another version of the same design was painted bright blue over a gray background, looking more like an abstract painting with some yellow accents from some peeled paint,, it was so bold..

Another window was covered with a simple metal wire mesh set in a dark, rusty frame..

You couldn't see much inside, which made me really wonder what was being kept safe behind that sturdy screen... 😁
Then there's this slatted jalousie style, but it looked very old and worn, covered in a dark, textured wall..

The slats and the surrounding wall had a rough, strong look,, a real testament to a house that has seen many seasons...

Doors: Telling a Story
The doors were just as interesting as the windows!!
I found a door that looked like it had quite the story to tell..

It was a plain, reddish-brown wooden door set in a heavy, concrete frame...
The bottom of the door was damaged, with big pieces of wood peeled away, revealing the lighter wood beneath...
It gave the door a real sense of history and hard use...
Even with the simple lock at the top, it looked like a faithful guardian for the home..

This one looks newly painted but the wall surrounding it was untouched.. maybe it's a new door..
It's amazing how these everyday things,, windows and doors,, can be so full of personality..
They're more than just ways to let light in or keep people out,,
they're like little pieces of art that show off the character of a house..
