The sun was shining and the world was feeling nice and slow,, the perfect kind of quiet.. ๐Ÿ˜Š How's everyone's day going so far??

My husband and I went out to find the nearest coffee shop and set up camp.. ๐Ÿ˜†
Our teenage daughter was in the middle of a big week,, finishing her second day of exams in the city..
Can you imagine, she goes through a three-hour commute every day just to get to school?!
Jeepney, ferry and bus!! Talk about dedication..
This little coffee shop visit was going to be her special treat for today..

Our Order of the Day.. โ˜•๏ธ

When we arrived at Cup & Slice,, the menu had all the delicious stuff but we knew our goal..

For the adults?! A couple of frosty iced lattes (because, you know, caffeine) ๐Ÿ˜†
For the exam warrior? a bright and bubbly kiwi fruit soda..

It looked so cool and refreshing, all fizzy and green!

I love a sweet pastry as much as the next person,, but something else on the menu grabbed my attention..
siomai and tofu with a spicy, rich dip..

Oh,, My,, Goodnessssss,,,
Don't knock it 'til you try it!!
Hot coffee and a savory, spicy bite of siomai?!
For me itโ€™s a match made in food heaven..
The pictures don't lie,, I was hooked!!

The Turtle Coaster Realization... ๐Ÿ˜Š

As I was taking a slow, happy sip of my latte, I looked over and saw my daughter..
She wasn't buried in her phone,, she was happily playing with the little green turtle coaster holding my coffee!!

Her eyes were wide and she was giggling a little...
It was such a small, silly moment but it made me smile... ๐Ÿ˜Š

"How was the exam?" I asked, a little nervous.. ๐Ÿ˜†

"Difficult" she said,,
"but it was manageable" she added ..
Wheew.. that was a relief, right??

Weโ€™ve been so busy lately,, running around with work and school schedules,,
that simple, unhurried time together has become rare..
Watching her,, that look of pure joy while sipping a soda and playing with a plastic turtle,, I had a little lightbulb moment.. ๐Ÿ’ก

It wasn't the fancy food or the expensive coffee that made the afternoon special..
It was the simple act of being there..
A quick trip to a coffee shop, a goofy toy and a cold drink turned into a big, important memory for us.. so precious...

I looked at her, happy and relaxed after a tough exam and made a promise to myself,, more time, more simple joys..
Because sometimes, the most important lesson you learn isn't in a textbook,,
it's right there in a coffee shop next to a fizzy soda and a silly green turtle.. ๐Ÿ˜‰

This concludes my entry for the Cinnamon Cup Coffee community weekly prompt..

Thank you so much for reading my blog for today..
And have a nice day, everyone,, ๐ŸŒž
Don't forget your dose of happiness for today..โ˜•๏ธ
