"Walking: the only time I feel productive while actually doing nothing."

It has been nice having some extra free time lately.
Since my clients are on vacation, my evenings are wide open.
Instead of sitting at my desk, I have been spending my afternoons and nights walking around town and exploring.
It feels good to breathe the fresh air and just move my feet.
I don’t get to do this often, so I am really enjoying the nature walks and the time spent visiting friends and family. 😊

Last night, my walk led me right to a small BBQ stand. πŸ‘πŸ˜‹
The smell of the charcoal was amazing.

I was really hoping for some grilled intestines, but they didn't have any ready yet.
Even without my favorite, they had plenty of other tasty things on display.

There were longganisa - sweet and salty sausages on sticks, some bright red and others a peppery brown.

Chicken liver and gizzard - they are rich, dark pieces skewered together for a deep, savory flavor πŸ˜‹

4.jpg

Chicken heads - It's a popular street food choice, grilled until the skin is nice and crisp.
Chicken feet - this is often called "Adidas". These are marinated and grilled until tender.

Chicken wings - they are large pieces of juicy chicken in a bright orange marinade.

Pork BBQ - the classic thin slices of pork meat on bamboo sticks, glazed with a sweet sauce. You can also request a hot and spicy sauce. But they are not available yet.

I stood there for a bit watching the smoke rise from the hot coals as the vendor fanned the flames.

Everything looked so good under the bright lights of the stall. We've waited for about 30 minutes.
In the end, we decided to get some chicken gizzards and chicken inasal in a hot and spicy sauce to take back home. We ate some while walking. Savoring the spicy and juicy gizzards in every step. 😁

It was the perfect way to end my evening walk.
I am really hoping that by our next stop there, we can have my favorite chicken intestines. 😁

This is Filipinos comfort food , I think it is automatic for us Filipinos to look for chicken intestines when we see stalls like this . The chewy texture and the sweet savory sauce combine will make you forget stress and just enjoy the moment .
