Have you ever returned to a place from your past and asked, “Wait... am I in the right place?”

That’s exactly how I felt when I saw the new Guimaras Provincial Capitol. Gone are the creaky floors, the crowded corners, and the race-to-the-fan situation in some of the old offices... Instead, I was greeted by towering white pillars that looked like they were plucked straight out of an ancient Greek temple..

🏛️ The Structure: From Simplicity to Sophistication

The new building is a statement. A grand, white neoclassical structure with symmetrical columns, wide glass doors, and details that scream, “We mean official business... but make it elegant.”

You can’t miss the big “GUIMARAS” sign out front either,, complete with a giant mango because of course, it's Guimaras.. 😏

Inside (or at least near the entrance), everything feels airy, clean, and official.

No more squeezing through tight hallways to get your payslip. There’s enough space here to throw a dance number 🤣,, though maybe don’t do that during office hours... 😅

🌺 The Surroundings: Not Just a Pretty Face

The landscaping? On point.... 👍

🌸Red ixora flowers and neatly trimmed shrubs surround the sign, giving the place that "Instagrammable" vibe... whether you’re taking selfies or official portraits this place has your backdrop needs covered...

They are a far cry from the flickering fluorescents of the past.. Even the lamp posts look like they’ve been through a glow-up 😊

Now here’s the fun part,, I used to work at the old Capitol building..

Picture this,, it’s salary day, the accounting office is overflowing, everyone's sweating like they just ran a marathon and there’s always that one guy trying to cut the line. yeahh, memories 😝

The rooms were small, a bit too cozy for comfort and if the fan broke, you were on your own 😝.. But we made it work.. And honestly, seeing this new building makes me feel oddly proud, like watching your old neighborhood friend become a CEO...😊

This new Provincial Capitol isn’t just a building,, it’s a symbol of how far Guimaras has come... Whether you're a local, a balikbayan or someone who just really loves mangoes, the Capitol is worth a stop,, take a photo, sit by the flowers and maybe,, just maybe,, remember the chaotic but charming old days, too...
