Each time you sponsor somebody for HSBI, you also receive a unit. In effect, you are curating them for regular support, and then you earn your curation share in the form of pending upvotes on your own content. Most members with over 1000 HSBI have done a lot of sponsoring. You can look up any account in the User Info page and review their sponsored versus enrolled history.

It accumulates every 2.4 hours until it reaches the threshold necessary to deliver our minimum upvote value.

How much it accumulates every 2.4h? I mean how much time it would take to get a 0,02 vote?
And it accumulates without doing anything? I mean also when someone isn't active for a while? is there a maximum accumulation? !LUV

The rate at which pending upvote balance accrues is per unit. So with 10 units, upvotes 10x as often, 100 units, 100x, etc. Once you are accruing pending upvote balance quickly enough for upvotes on every post, then higher HSBI increases your upvote size on each post instead, up to our maximum deliverable upvote.
