BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge! || RISE OF THE COMMONS Ruleset
RISE OF THE COMMONS

"Only common and rare units may be used in battles."
RISE OF THE COMMONS is a ruleset that limits the use of units (monsters) in a battle. The limitation applied to the RISE OF THE COMMONS ruleset is that players can only use units with COMMON and RARE rarity, while EPIC and LEGENDARY Units cannot be used in the RISE OF THE COMMONS ruleset. Luckily, this restriction only applies to Units (monsters). This restriction does not apply to Summoners, so players can still choose Summoners with EPIC or LEGENDARY Rarity.
To deal with the RISE OF THE COMMONS ruleset, it is necessary to understand the abilities of each unit (especially those with COMMON and RARE rarity) because everything depends on the other rulesets that accompany this ruleset and the skills of each player.
RULESET & FORMATION
In addition to RISE OF THE COMMONS, the Rulesets in this battle are...
WEAK MAGIC
WEAK MAGIC is a ruleset that restricts a unit in a battle. The limitation of the WEAK MAGIC Ruleset is that attacks from magic monsters cannot directly hit the health points of the target, as they do in general. Their attacks will hit the ARMOR of the target first if the target has ARMOR.
WEAK MAGIC Ruleset has the same characteristics as VOID ARMOR ability. What they have in common is that attacks from Magic monsters do not directly hit Health points but hit the ARMOR of the target first. So the WEAK MAGIC Ruleset can be interpreted as a Ruleset that gives additional abilities in the form of VOID ARMOR
to all monsters in the battle arena.
CLOSE RANGE
CLOSE RANGE is a ruleset that gives an advantage to one type of unit. The CLOSE RANGE ruleset gives Ranged monsters an advantage in the form of the ability to be able to attack even though they are in first position. This condition is the same as giving an additional CLOSE RANGE ability to all Ranged monsters in the battle arena.
My Line-Up
Cards | Ability | Reason |
---|---|---|
![]() | - Give additionals of 1 ARMOR and SPEED to All Allies | Being in the WEAK MAGIC ruleset, I prepared myself by giving my monsters an additional 1 ARMOR from Kelya Frendul. This is needed just in case the opponent uses Magic monsters which will generally attack directly at the Health point of the target. But if it turns out that the opponent does not use Magic monster(s), at least with the additional 1 ARMOR can protect from one attack launched by Melee or Ranged monsters. |
![]() | None | Despite not having any Ability, Cruel Sethropod is still very useful, especially in this WEAK MAGIC Ruleset. Because it has a lot of ARMOR even with a low amount of Mana and SPEED. This will be more beneficial if Cruel Sethropod is assisted by Monsters that have REPAIR ![]() |
![]() | DODGE + PHASE + BACKFIRE | I choose Chaos Agent as the second TANK if Cruel Sethropod is defeated by the opponent's monsters. Although it does not have Attack Power, Chaos Agent has several abilities that allow it to avoid attacks from opposing monsters such as DODGE ![]() ![]() In addition, Chaos Agent is also equipped with the BACKFIRE ![]() |
![]() | SNEAK + FLYING | I use Pelacor Bandit to target the opponent's monsters that are in the last position so that the power of the opponent can be reduced. In addition, Pelacor Bandit has the FLYING ![]() ![]() |
![]() | REPAIR + CAMOUFLAGE + SLOW | To support Cruel Sethropod, I use Scavo Hireling who has the REPAIR ![]() CAMOUFLAGE ![]() ![]() |
BATTLE STARTS!!!
The opponent uses Obsidian who is a Summoner that focuses on Magic monsters. He also brings 1 Magic monster (Regal Peryton) but does not bring or use monsters that have ARMOR or that provide additional ARMOR (has PROTECT ability).
In the first round, Pelacor Bandit attacked Xenith Archer first. Regal Peryton attacked Cruel Sethropod but only hit the ARMOR even though he used Magic Attack. It was because of the WEAK MAGIC ruleset that his attack hit the ARMOR of Cruel Sethropod first.
Cruel Sethropod's ARMOR was partially repaired by Scavo Hireling but Xenith Archer damaged Cruel Sethropod's ARMOR again. Cruel Sethropod attacked Hill Giant but Hill Giant failed to land its attack on Cruel Sethropod.
In the second round, Xenith Archer was defeated by Pelacor Bandit. Regal Peryton damaged Cruel Sethropod's ARMOR again. Although it was repaired by Scavo Hireling, Hill Giant attacked and damaged Cruel Sethropod's ARMOR. Meanwhile, Cruel Sethropod attacked Hill Giant.
In the third round, Cruel Sethropod defeated Hill Giant, while Regal Peryton attacked the health points of Cruel Sethropod (because he lost all his ARMOR after receiving an attack from Hill Giant in the previous round). Regal Peryton can only be defeated in the fourth round after receiving attacks from Pelacor Bandit in this and the previous round.

Review of this battle
Because the amount of Mana available is very small, the selection of monsters itself is quite limited. The opponent seemed to be betting on the attack from Regal Peryton as well as the STUN ability from Hill Giant. But because Hill Giant failed to inflict the STUN effect on Cruel Sethropod, Cruel Sethropod easily dealt damage to Hill Giant and defeated it in the third round.
In addition, despite taking damage from the opponent's monsters, Cruel Sethropod can still survive thanks to Scavo Hireling who repairs some of his ARMOR every round.
