BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge! || RISE OF THE COMMONS Ruleset
RISE OF THE COMMONS

"Only Common and Rare Monsters may be used in battles."
RISE OF THE COMMONS is a ruleset that prohibits the use of monster cards with EPIC and LEGENDARY rarity. Even though the word COMMONS is there, we can still use monster cards with COMMON and RARE rarity. This restriction only applies to monster cards, while Summoner has no effect (so we can still use Legendary Summoner in this ruleset).
There is no specific way to win or survive in this ruleset. It all depends on whether other rulesets restrict certain cards. However, in most of the battles in RISE OF THE COMMONS Ruleset that I have played so far, opponents often use monsters with the SNEAK ability. monsters with this ability are often found in COMMON Rarity, so opponents may use it if there is no better option or because of the limited amount of Mana available per battle.
RULESET & FORMATION
In addition to RISE OF THE COMMONS, the Ruleset in this battle is...
LITTLE LEAGUE
LITTLE LEAGUE is a ruleset that only allows the use of monsters and Summoners that have no more than 4 Mana points. All RARE Summoners from the CHAOS LEGION edition have 4 points of Mana, plus 1 LEGENDARY Summoner from DRAGON Splinter (Quix the Devious).
For monsters, although the number of Mana points for each monster is limited, there are still many best choices in each element. Such as Queen Mycelia from EARTH Element who has PROTECT ability, or Doctor Blight from NEUTRAL element who has POISON
ability which is quite troublesome.
But because we are also in the RISE OF THE COMMONS Ruleset, the 2 monsters I mentioned earlier cannot be used because they are LEGENDARY monsters.
HOLY PROTECTION
HOLY PROTECTION is one of the rulesets that will provide additional abilities to all monsters in the battle arena. the ability that will be given is DIVINE SHIELD . DIVINE SHIELD
is an ability that can negate the first attack received by the owner of this ability even though he received an attack from a monster with high ATTACK POWER.
But unfortunately, this ability does not affect the POISON ability found in the NOXIOUS FUMES Ruleset (where all monsters have received POISON before the battle begins).
My Line-Up
Cards | Ability | Reason |
---|---|---|
![]() | - Give a reduction of 1 Attack Power to All Enemies Ranged Monsters - Give a reduction of 1 SPEED to All enemies | I prefer to use Quix the Devious because I need some monsters from DRAGON Splinter. Another reason is that I want to reduce the SPEED of the opponent's monsters so that I can attack first. |
![]() | HEAL + VOID | Since I use Quix the Devious (which will only reduce the ATTACK POWER of the opponent's Ranged monster), the attack from the opponent's magic monster will have a big impact on my monster. Therefore, I need a VOID ![]() In CHAOS LEGION Edition, only a few monsters with COMMON RARITY have it. And I decided to use Xenith Monk. He only has VOID ![]() ![]() |
![]() | REACH + STUN | Twilight Basilisk has a REACH ![]() ![]() Twilight Basilisk has this ability since it was level 5 (I'm using level 6), and this ability is useful for stopping the target's movement for 1 round (if the effect is successfully activated). STUN ![]() |
![]() | LIFE LEECH + POISON | I will use Venari Bonesmith as a replacement TANK if Xenith Monk and Twilight Basilisk are defeated by the opponent. Because later he will get additional HEALTH from the ability he has (LIFE LEECH ![]() In addition, Venari Bonesmith has a POISON ![]() |
![]() | PROTECT | I chose Ravenhood Warden because I needed its PROTECT ![]() |
![]() | BACKFIRE | Naga Assassin is the fastest monster in my formation this time. It already has the BACKFIRE ![]() ![]() |
![]() | SNEAK + MARTYR | To increase the success of the BACKFIRE ![]() ![]() ![]() If Vruz is defeated, then Naga Assassin will receive an additional 1 point in all his stats (including SPEED). And if the difference in SPEED is further, the success rate of BACKFIRE ![]() |
BATTLE START !!!
The opponent used the DEATH element and luckily the opponent also brought 1 monster with SNEAK ability (Fermoor Hunt). The opponent also brought 2 Magic monsters while I only brought 1 magic monster (because I focused on attacks from Ranged monsters).
In the first round, the attacks from all of the opponent's monsters (except Fermoor Hunt which attacked Vruz) successfully hit Xenith Monk. On my side, only the attack from Ravenhood Warden failed to hit the opponent's Xenith Monk.
In the second round, the opponent's Xenith Monk was defeated by Twilight Basilisk and made his position replaced by Shadow Snitch. Meanwhile, when it was the opponent's turn to attack, Xenith Monk was poisoned because of the attack from Venari Bonesmith. But luckily the attack from Soul Strangler failed to hit him, so it was Shadow Snitch who attacked and left 1 HEALTH point.
In the third round, Shadow Snitch was also defeated by Twilight Basilisk, and Twilight Basilisk was also hit by POISON from Venari Bonesmith with 1 HEALTH Point left.
Vruz was defeated by Fermoor Hunt so Naga Assassin received additional stats.
In the fourth round, my Venari Bonesmith was POISONed due to an attack from my opponent's Venari Bonesmith. But again, Soul Strangler failed to land his attack on the monster in the first position.
Despite being hit by POISON , my Venari Bonesmith managed to defeat my opponent's Venari Bonesmith. It was all also thanks to the attack from Naga Assassin who had gotten a stats boost.
And just like the previous round, Soul Strangler failed to land his attack on Venari Bonesmith.

Review of this battle
This battle was full of surprises. Some of them were my Venari Bonesmith who failed to give POISON so he lost. While the opponent's Venari Bonesmith managed to give POISON
to 3 different monsters.
Another surprise was when Soul Strangler failed to land his attack 3 times (on 2 different monsters). And the last surprise was the winner where Ravenhod Warden successfully attacked Life Sapper in the fifth round. If the attack had missed, the battle would have been won by the opponent.
