BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge! || ODD ONES OUT Ruleset

avatar

Hi everyone, Welcome to my BATTLE MAGE SECRETS post. BATTLE MAGE SECRETS itself is a replacement for SHARE YOUR BATTLE CHALLENGE, where if SHARE YOUR BATTLE CHALLENGE takes 1 monster as its weekly theme while BATTLE MAGE SECRETS takes 1 Ruleset as its theme. And the theme for this week is...

ODD ONES OUT

"Only units with odd mana costs may be used."

ODD ONES OUT is one of the rulesets that limits what monsters can be used in the battle arena. The restriction applied in the ODD ONES OUT Ruleset is that the only monsters that can be used are monsters with an odd number of Mana (1, 3, 5, 7, ..., etc.).

There is no specific way to overcome the ODD ONES OUT Ruleset other than having to know the other Rulesets that accompany it and what abilities often appear on monsters that have an odd amount of Mana.

RULESET & FORMATION

In addition to ODD ONES OUT, the Rulesets in this battle are...

KEEP YOUR DISTANCE

KEEP YOUR DISTANCE is a Ruleset that prohibits the use of Melee monsters in the battle arena. In addition, Dual Attack monsters with Melee Attack as one of their attack types cannot be used in the KEEP YOUR DISTANCE Ruleset.

To fill the first position as a replacement for Melee monsters that cannot be used, we need Magic monsters or No-Attack monsters that have high Health points and HEAL ability (or with the help of monsters that have TANK HEAL ability) to survive longer.

EQUAL OPPORTUNITY

EQUAL OPPORTUNITY is a Ruleset that gives additional abilities in the form of OPPORTUNITY to all monsters in the battle arena. To overcome this rule, it is not recommended to use monsters with low health points so that they are not immediately defeated in one attack.

My Line-Up

CardsAbilityReason
- Give a reduction of 1 Attack power to All Enemies Ranged monsters

- Give a reduction of 1 SPEED to All Enemies
The reason I use Quix the Devious is so that I can use monsters from 2 different elements (DRAGON and 1 other element). Also, being in the KEEP YOUR DISTANCE ruleset, the 1 ATTACK POINT reduction on your opponent's Ranged monsters can be useful to minimize the attack damage from your opponent's Ranged monsters.
FLYING + VOID + PHASEOne of my favorite monsters when I use Quix the Devious as summoner. Void Dragon has FLYING and PHASE abilities that can increase the chance of dodging various types of attacks as long as it excels in speed.
MARTYRVenari Marksrat is the sacrifice that I will utilize in EQUAL OPPORTUNITY. Defeating Venari Marksrat can give an additional 1 point of stats to monsters that have a position adjacent to it.
BLAST + RUST + BLINDBeing in the EQUAL OPPORTUNITY Ruleset, I don't want one attack from my monsters to only hit one of the opponent's monsters. Therefore, I want to utilize Scavo Technomancer who has the BLAST ability to hurt monsters around the target.
RESURRECT + INSPIRE + DISPELI need River Hellondale to be able to revive Venari Marksrat so that he can provide more than 1 additional STATS point.
RESURRECT + REFLECTION SHIELD + TANK HEALJust like River Hellondale, Oshuur Constantia can be used to revive Venari Marksrat.

In addition, Oshuur Constantia has the TANK HEAL ability that can be used to heal Void Dragon so that it can last longer against the opponent's TANK.
PROTECT + DISPELI use Venari Wavesmith to provide additional ARMOR to all my monsters so that they can be protected from some of the opponent's Ranged monsters.

BATTLE STARTS!!!

Both sides have some similarities in choosing Summoners and some monsters used in this battle. Both used Quix the Devious as a summoner and used the same 3 monsters (Void Dragon, Venari Marksrat, and River Hellondale).

The difference is that my opponent brings Angelic Mandarin who has the SILENCE ability to reduce the Attack power of all my magic monsters while my side has Scavo Technomancer who reduces the ARMOR of all my opponent's monsters (RUST ) and Venari Wavesmith who gives additional ARMOR to all my monsters.

image.png

In the first round, Void Dragons from each side attacked each other. Venari Wavesmith attacked the opponent's Venari Marksrat but was healed by Angelic Mandarin. Angelic Mandarin along with Swamp Spitter and Nerissa Tridawn defeated my Venari Marksrat for the first time (but was revived by River Hellondale). The opponent's River Hellondale defeated my Venari Marksrat again (and it was revived by Oshuur Constantia).

Void Dragon and Scavo Technomancer received an additional 2 points of STATS due to the defeat of Venari Marksrat. Scavo Technomancer and River Hellondale defeated the opponent's Venari Marksrat but were revived by the opponent's River Hellondale. Then Oshuur Constantia defeated Venari Marksrat again and that made Void Dragon and Nerissa Tridawn receive an additional 2 points of STATS.

In the second round, the two Void Dragons were still fighting each other. Nerissa Tridawn defeated my Venari Marksrat again and that gave another 1 point of STATS to Void Dragon and Scavo Technomancer. Not wasting that, Scavo Technomancer attacked and defeated my opponent's River Hellondale and dealt additional damage to Angelic Mandarin and Swamp Spitter.

Swamp Spitter also took a hit from Venari Wavesmith before being healed by Angelic Mandarin. Angelic Mandarin and Swamp Spitter destroyed the ARMOR of my River Hellondale. The last attack of the round came from Oshuur Constantia and River Hellondale who attacked Swamp Spitter. Before that, Oshuur Constantia healed some health from my Void dragon.

image.png

In the third round, the opponent's Void Dragon failed to hit my Void Dragon. While mine managed to hit it. Nerissa Tridawn defeated River Hellondale. Meanwhile, Scavo Technomancer defeated Swamp Spitter and dealt additional damage to Nerissa Tridawn and Angelic Mandarin.

Angelic Mandarin healed himself and attacked the ARMOR of Venari Wavesmith. But Venari Wavesmith and Oshuur Constantia dealt more damage to Angelic Mandarin.

image.png

In the fourth round, both Void Dragons managed to inflict damage on the other side. Nerissa Tridawn defeated Venari Wavesmith. Scavo Technomancer defeated Angelic Mandarin and dealt additional damage to Nerissa Tridawn. Defeating Angelic Mandarin removes the debuff he put on my Magic monsters. Meanwhile, Oshuur Constantia failed to land its attack on my opponent's Void Dragon.

In the fifth round, Oshuur Constantia was defeated by Nerissa Tridawn. The opponent's Void Dragon that had attacked was defeated by my Scavo Technomancer and Void Dragon.

In the final round, Nerissa Tridawn was defeated by Void Dragon.

Review of this battle

Although at first, it was a little disadvantageous because my Magic monsters received a debuff from Angelic Mandarin in the form of SILENCE , thanks to the 2 monsters that have the RESURRECT ability, making some of my monsters excel in terms of attack and speed.

Scavo Technomancer who was one of the beneficiaries of defeating Venari Marksrat three times was also the key to victory in this battle because he could deal damage to more than one monster with each attack. That caused one of the monsters from the opponent's side to be unable to heal multiple monsters at once. His BLIND ability also saved my Void Dragon from several attacks that the opponent's Void Dragon tried to launch.
