BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge! || FOG OF WAR Ruleset
FOG OF WAR

"Monsters lose the Sneak, Snipe, and Opportunity abilities."
FOG OF WAR is a ruleset that limits the abilities of certain monsters. The restricted monsters are monsters that have the SNEAK , SNIPE
, and OPPORTUNITY
abilities. Monsters with one of these three abilities cannot use their abilities in the FOG OF WAR Ruleset.
Attacks from monsters with one of the three abilities can only be directed at the opponent's monster in the first position. However, this only applies if the monsters that have the Ability (SNEAK , SNIPE
, and OPPORTUNITY
) are Ranged or Magic Attack monsters. Meanwhile, Melee monsters with one of the three abilities cannot attack the opponent's monsters in the first position if they are not placed in the first position. They (Melee monsters) need another Ruleset (i.e. MELEE MAYHEM
) if they want to be able to attack opposing monsters in any position when in the FOG OF WAR Ruleset.
Luckily, the FOG OF WAR ruleset does not affect monsters that have the SCATTER SHOT ability. SCATTER SHOT
is an ability that chooses their target randomly each round. And even in the FOG OF WAR ruleset, monsters that have the SCATTER SHOT
ability will still attack opponents randomly (can target opposing monsters that are in any position.
Chaos Dragon can be the best option to use in the FOG OF WAR Ruleset. Besides having the SCATTER SHOT ability, Chaos Dragon also has the BLAST
ability which will deal additional damage to monsters around the target of its attack.
RULESET & FORMATION
In this battle, there is only one ruleset, FOG OF WAR.
The opponent used Lux Vega which gave an additional 1 point to Health, SPEED, and ARMOR to all the opponent's monsters. Unfortunately, some of the monsters he has are not yet at the maximum level.
As for my formation...
My Line-Up
Cards | Ability | Reason |
---|---|---|
![]() | - Give a reduction of 1 Health point to All Enemies - Give a reduction of 1 Attack Power to All Enemies Magic monsters | I decided to use Thaddius Brood because I wanted to use the reduction of 1 Health point and 1 Magic Attack point to all the opponent's monsters so that they could be defeated as quickly as possible. In addition, in Death Element there are several monsters that I need to overcome the Manacap limitations given in this battle. |
![]() | THORNS + HEAL + SLOW | Although it requires a large Mana, I still choose Cursed Windeku as TANK because it has high Health points. In addition, he can deal damage even if he is hit by the opponent's Melee monster with the THORNS ![]() ![]() ![]() In addition, Cursed Windeku also has the HEAL ![]() ![]() |
![]() | DODGE + PHASE + BACKFIRE | Since the limited number of Manacap had already been used up by Cursed Windeku, there were very few monster options available. Chaos Agent became one of the choices. Although he does not have ATTACK POWER (No-Attack Monster) and Health is not too big, Chaos Agent has several abilities that help him avoid the attacks of the opponent's monsters. DODGE ![]() ![]() ![]() |
![]() | SILENCE | Another monster option in limited Manacap is Corpse Fiend. Although it has 0 points of Mana and has no abilities, Corpse Fiend and monsters with the same amount of Mana are commonly used as sacrifice pawns so as not to directly attack the monster in the position after it. However, when it is at maximum level, Corpse Fiend has the SILENCE ![]() |
![]() | SHATTER + AMPLIFY + RUST | The last monster I picked in the limited Manacap was Weirding Warrior. I placed Weirding Warrior at the very end because of the FOG OF WAR Ruleset which makes it not a target for attacks. Weirding Warrior will play an important role because it has several abilities such as AMPLIFY ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
BATTLE START !!!
The opposing side has a 1 SPEED advantage so they attack first.
In the first round, my opponent's Corpse Fiend attacked my Cursed Windeku but lost due to the effect of THORNS. Then the opponent's Weirding Warrior also attacked and the opponent's Cursed Windeku did the same despite being hit by the effect of THORNS after finishing the attack.
My Cursed Windeku managed to heal some of its Health points and attacked the opponent's Cursed Windeku (even though it had to take the effect of THORNS). Then Weirding Warrior also attacked.
In the second round, the opponent's Cursed Windeku managed to heal some of its Health points and managed to defeat my Cursed Windeku after attacking it with Weirding Warrior. However, the opponent's Cursed Windeku* took damage from the THORNS effect and was then defeated by my Weirding Warrior.
Since there were no monsters other than Weirding Warrior on the opponent's side, it became the target of my Weirding Warrior's attack and was defeated.

Review of this battle
When viewed from the monster level, the opposing party is indeed at a disadvantage because several monsters are not at the maximum level. As for speed, the opponent is superior. However, this advantage makes the opponent lose.
The cause started in the first round when my opponent's Cursed Windeku attacked first and took damage from the THORNS ability. Meanwhile, my Cursed Windeku healed himself first so that he only took damage from THORNS
ability and attacks coming from Weirding Warrior.
