BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge! || EARTHQUAKE Ruleset
EARTHQUAKE

"Non-flying Monsters take 2 Melee damage at the end of each round."
As the name suggests, EARTHQUAKE is a ruleset that will deal damage to monsters that are on the ground. monsters that can't fly will receive damage each round. The damage taken by monsters that can't fly is the same as taking 2 points of damage from attacks coming from Melee or Ranged monsters.
The way to deal with it is of course by using monsters that have the FLYING ability. In addition to avoiding the effects of EARTHQUAKE, FLYING
ability can be used to increase the chance of avoiding attacks from monsters that do not have FLYING
ability (especially Melee and Ranged attack monsters). To increase its effectiveness is to increase the SPEED difference or use abilities such as DODGE
and BLIND
(you can also add PHASE
if you want to avoid Magic attack monsters),
The above method is not 100% successful. Despite having a big difference and coupled with other supporting abilities, sometimes attacks from opposing monsters can hit FLYING monsters. Especially if the attacking monster has the TRUE STRIKE
ability or is in the AIM TRUE Ruleset where all attacks will never miss. There is also the SNARE
ability that can 100% hit monsters with the FLYING
ability and remove the flying effect of this ability (but it can still be removed by using the CLEANSE
ability as long as the monster with the FLYING
ability is in the first position).
Another way to overcome (or at least minimize) the impact of the EARTHQUAKE ruleset is to use monsters that have the SHIELD ability. Because the effect of EARTHQUAKE is the same as an attack from a Melee or Ranged monster, monsters with the SHIELD
ability will only take 1 point of damage from this Ruleset.
RULESET & FORMATION
In addition to EARTHQUAKE, the Ruleset in this battle is...
KEEP YOUR DISTANCE
KEEP YOUR DISTANCE is a Ruleset that prohibits the use of Melee monsters (or dual-attack type monsters where one of the attack types is Melee attack type). To replace the TANK that is usually filled by Melee monsters, Magic monsters, or other monsters that have high Health points and abilities to reduce damage such as VOID and SHIELD
abilities are needed.
AIM TRUE
AIM TRUE is a ruleset that makes every attack from each monster never miss. Abilities that are usually used to increase the chance of avoiding attacks such as FLYING , PHASE
, DODGE
, and BLIND
will not be useful in the AIM TRUE ruleset.
Then instead you can use VOID or SHIELD
to reduce the impact of damage. Or if you are an All-out Attack type player, then you need to use monsters that have high ATTACK POWER and SPEED. Or you can also use SWIFTNESS
to increase the SPEED of our monster and SLOW
to slow down the SPEED of the opponent's monster.
My Line-Up
Cards | Ability | Reason |
---|---|---|
![]() | - Give an additional 1 ARMOR and SPEED to All Allies | I use Kelya Frendul because I need the additional SPEED and ARMOR that it gives to all monsters. With the additional SPEED, there is a possibility that my monsters will get their turn to attack first. Meanwhile, the additional 1 ARMOR can protect against 1 Ranged Attack of monsters from the opponent. |
![]() | VOID + SLOW + STRENGTHEN + HEAL | The main reason I used Baakjira to fill the first position is because he has quite high Health points. Although it doesn't have ATTACK POWER, Baakjira is still able to withstand attacks from Magic attack monsters by using the VOID ![]() In addition, Baakjira also has the SLOW ![]() ![]() |
![]() | SCAVENGER + SHATTER + DISPEL | Musa Saline is tasked with destroying the opponent monster's ARMOR at once (if the number of ARMOR is large enough). this is in exchange for the low ATTACK POWER she has. Musa Saline also has the DISPEL ![]() |
![]() | TANK HEAL + REPAIR | Merdaali Guardian is tasked with helping Baakjira by healing her Health points using the TANK HEAL ![]() ![]() |
![]() | REPAIR + GIANT KILLER | In addition to using Merdaali Guardian I also brought Swamp Spitter which also has the REPAIR ![]() ![]() |
![]() | FURY + SNARE | I chose Rune Crafter because he has the SNARE ![]() ![]() |
![]() | SWIFTNESS | Although it only has 1 ability, Supply Runner is one of the monsters with the highest SPEED, so it can attack first. In addition, the 1 ability he has (SWIFTNESS ![]() |
BATTLE START !!!
The opponent only relies on the de-buff from his summoner (Thaddius Brood) which is a reduction of 1 Health point and 1 Magic Attack power to all my monsters. While on my side, apart from Kelya Frendul, my monsters also got buff from Supply Runner and Baakjira*.
In the first round, Supply Runner and Musa Saline defeated Venari Marksrat for the first time (and were revived by Skok Duskblight). Meanwhile, the second defeat came from Swamp Spitter's attack. That made Gargoya Devil receive an additional 2 points in all his Stats and then he damaged the ARMOR of Baakjira. But before that, Gargoya Devil was hit by an attack from Rune Crafter and was affected by SNARE which made him lose his FLYING ability
.
Skok Duskblight, Rune Crafter, and Dhampir Stalker attack the health points of Baakjira.
In the second round, Gargoya Devil was defeated by Supply Runner, Musa Saline, and Swamp Spitter*. Meanwhile, Skok Duskblight received an attack from Rune Crafter.
Although he managed to heal himself and was assisted by Merdaali Guardian, Baakjira again received attacks from Skok Duskblight, Rune Crafter, and Dhampir Stalker*.
In the last round, Skok Duskblight lost to the effects of EARTHQUAKE. Rune Crafter was defeated by Supply Runner, Musa Saline, and Swamp Spitter. Meanwhile, Dhampir Stalker was defeated by Rune Crafter.

Review of this battle
This battle was saved by the 1 ARMOR that my monsters received from Kelya Frendul, especially for Baakjira. If there wasn't that 1 ARMOR, then Baakjira would have been instantly defeated at the end of the first round by the attacks of all the opponent's monsters, especially Gargoya Devil who got an extra boost from defeating Venari Marksrat. And if Baakjira loses, there is a possibility that I will lose this battle.
