BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge! || BROKEN ARROW Ruleset
BROKEN ARROW

"Ranged attack Monsters may not be used in battles."
BROKEN ARROW is a ruleset that prohibits the use of certain types of attacks. The type of attack that cannot be used in the BROKEN ARROW ruleset is Ranged attack monsters. This prohibition not only applies to Ranged Attack monsters but also applies to Dual Attack type monsters where one of the attack types is Ranged Attack.

Drybone Raider is one example of a Dual Attack Type monster that cannot be used in the BROKEN ARROW Ruleset.
Since Ranged attack monsters cannot be used, the opponent will likely use Melee or Magic attack monsters. And to deal with them, at least some monsters that can reduce damage (SHIELD or VOID
ability) or reduce the ATTACK POWER of the opponent's monsters (DEMORALIZE
or SILENCE
ability) are needed.
In addition to the abilities above, there are other ways to deal with Melee or Magic attack monsters. The trick is to use monsters with a large amount of ARMOR or give and increase the amount of ARMOR by using the PROTECT ability. If your opponent is more dominant in using Magic monsters, you can use VOID ARMOR
ability so that the opponent's Magic attack monsters go through ARMOR first.
RULESET & FORMATION
In addition to BROKEN ARROW, the Ruleset in this battle is...
EVEN STEVENS
EVEN STEVENS is a ruleset that only allows the use of monsters with an even number of Mana points. To deal with this ruleset you must learn and know what monsters have an even amount of Mana. Sometimes some abilities are only owned by monsters with even Mana points. But the abilities that I know so far are only owned by monsters with even Mana points are SLOW and SWIFTNESS
abilities.
EQUAL OPPORTUNITY
EQUAL OPPORTUNITY is a ruleset that grants additional abilities to all monsters in the battle arena. The ability given is OPPORTUNITY . OPPORTUNITY
itself is an ability that targets monsters with the lowest Health points. So it is not recommended to use monsters with very low Health points, especially if the monster has abilities that are needed in a battle.
If you still need a monster with low Health points because of its ability, then there is a way to be able to distract the attacker. That is by bringing a monster with the TAUNT ability. TAUNT
ability can make every attack aimed at the owner of the ability except for monsters in the first position and monsters that have SCATTER SHOT
ability.
My Line-Up
Cards | Ability | Reason |
---|---|---|
![]() | - Give a reduction of 1 SPEED to All Enemies - Give a reduction of 1 ATTACK POWER to All Enemies Ranged Monsters | Although one of the abilities (reduce 1 Attack power to all Ranged attacks of the opponent's monsters) cannot be used in the BROKEN ARROW Ruleset, I still want to use Quix the Devious because I need some of the monsters in DRAGON Splinter. And even though one of the abilities cannot be used, there is still another ability (reduce 1 SPEED to all opponent's monsters) that can be used so that I can get a turn to attack first. |
![]() | THORNS + ENRAGE | Since it is in the EQUAL OPPORTUNITY Ruleset, it is most likely that the targeted monster is in a position other than the first position. The first position is identical to Melee attack monsters, so I decided to use Djinn Chwala which has the THORNS ![]() In addition, Djinn Chwala has the ENRAGE ![]() |
![]() | SNEAK + MARTYR | Vruz is the monster with the lowest Health points that I used this time. This is useful so that attackers can target their attacks at Vruz. Because Vruz has a MARTYR ![]() |
![]() | FLYING + SCATTER SHOT + BLAST + BLIND | I chose Chaos Dragon because it has a combination of abilities that are quite troublesome (SCATTER SHOT ![]() ![]() |
![]() | SHIELD + IMMUNITY + DEMORALIZE | I use Harklaw because he has the DEMORALIZE ![]() ![]() |
![]() | SNIPE + CAMOUFLAGE + OPPRESS | I chose Magi Necrosi because she has pretty good ATTACK POWER and SPEED even with not too many Health points. But to make up for the shortcomings, she has the CAMOUFLAGE ![]() |
![]() | AFFLICTION + CAMOUFLAGE + POISON | Besides Magi Necrosi, I also brought Doctor Blight which both have CAMOUFLAGE ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
BATTLE START !!!
Although they both used Quix the Devious as Summoner, the opponent only used 1 monster from DRAGON Splinter. My opponent also gave another debuff from Will o Wisp in the form of 1 Health point reduction to all my monsters.
In the first round, Vruz was immediately defeated by Will o Wisp before he could attack. However, this gave an advantage to Djinn Chwala and Chaos Dragon who received an additional 1 point in all of their Stats. Djinn Chwala attacks Cursed Windeku while Chaos Dragon targets Harklaw (whose additional damage hits Will o Wisp and Cursed Windeku).
On the opposing side, Harklaw, Skok Duskblight, Magi of Chaos, and Djinn Chwala targeted their attacks at my Harklaw. The Magi of Necrosi and Doctor Blight managed to defeat Will-o-Wisp but were resurrected by Skok Duskblight.
In the second round, Chaos Dragon again targeted Harklaw, and his additional damage hit Cursed Windeku and defeated Will-o-Wisp for the second time. This was capitalized on by Djinn Chwala by defeating Cursed Windeku.
On the opponent's side, Djinn Chwala failed to land its attack on my Harklaw, but the attacks from Skok Duskblight and Magi of Chaos defeated it.
Magi Necrosi targets Skok Duskblight and Doctor Blight defeats the opponent's Harklaw.
In the third round, Skok Duskblight was defeated by Djinn Chwala. Chaos Dragon targeted the opponent's Djinn Chwala, then Magi Necrosi and Doctor Blight attacked Magi of Chaos.
On the opposing side, Djinn Chwala and Magi of Chaos attacked my Djinn Chwala.
In the last round, Magi of Chaos was defeated by Djinn Chwala who was in RAGE MODE, while the opponent's Djinn Chwala was defeated by attacks from Chaos Dragon and Magi Necrosi.

Review of this battle
The victory this time can be said to be due to luck and unexpected things. Lucky because Vruz played a big role (even though he lost first) in this battle. Meanwhile, the unexpected happened because the opponent brought a No-Attack monster (Will o Wisp) and I indirectly brought Magi Necrosi which has the OPPRESS ability. OPPRESS
is an ability that deals twice the damage if the target is a No-Attack monster.
Magi Necrosi targeted Will o Wisp using SNIPE ability rather than attacking Skok Duskblight who had the lowest Health points. This made Will o Wisp take more damage from being hit by OPPRESS
from Magi Necrosi and had to lose faster.
If I hadn't decided to use Magi Necrosi, there's a possibility that the battle would have lasted longer.
