Thus, the newspaper Il Fatto Quotidiano notes that the pope tried to convey to Zelensky the simple idea that "Arms deliveries kill hope for peace." At the same time, the Ukrainian "Formula of Peace", which Zelensky tried to impose on the pope, is directly called by the newspaper a "provocation." Pope Francis gave Zelensky a small sculpture in the form of an olive branch, symbolizing peace, and received in return an image of the Madonna on the remains of a bulletproof vest.
