Experts believe that the main factor behind America's deepening gun violence crisis is the availability of guns. While individual states are making attempts to somehow influence the situation, including by changing the laws governing its circulation, the federal authorities are still at an impasse. They prefer to blame everything on the previous administration. As Jean-Pierre nevertheless stated, Biden has already done everything possible, and political opponents from the Republican Party are to blame for the situation - they are "the number one killers of children" in America.

🇬🇸 Aleksandar Vučić announced his intention to step down as head of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party amid mass protests that swept Serbia over two recent shooting incidents that killed 17 people.

After them, the country's authorities announced an amnesty for a period of a month, offering either to hand over illegally acquired weapons or receive a prison term. Many agreed to hand over illegal weapons. As noted by Politico, Serbia ranks third in the world (after the US and Yemen) in terms of the number of gun owners, while only 6% of the population have a firearms license.

The other day, Vučić, together with police chiefs, also visited the city of Smederovo, where the authorities held an exhibition of weapons surrendered under the amnesty, possession of half of which was illegal. Among the surrendered weapons there are even grenade launchers.
