... dictatorship with full military mobilization and Koreans fought back. Most men are military trained due to mandatory conscription.

The event was basically a V for Vendetta reenactment!

I heard the news last evening, but still can't figure out why did he try to pull this stunt. I mean was there any imminent threat? That's usually why you declare martial law. Or he thought maybe South Korea would be better off as a dictatorship too, if the North wasn't going to be a democracy, lol. Anyway, if the latter is the case, someone probably really fooled him into thinking it will be possible to become dictator over night in South Korea. Some crazy things are happening in the world as we speak...

It seems to be a power grab made out of frustration. The president had approval rating drop to 20% and he could not pass many of the policies he wanted to pass.

Oh well, another would-be dictator bites the dust. 😀

Maybe it was all planned to happen just like this? Who fought back? Who actually told the president that he had to end the martial law? Or was it always just going to only last 2 days?

I bet most Koreans did not notice

Funny clip, yeah pretty informative and crazy. Wonder if this wasn't really pushed by international powers. I think that the president wasn't just pushed to do this out of impulse. Something else most have pushed him to act like that.

That is definitely a possibility. South Korea only had a single president that left the office unscathed in modern times based on what I could find.
