Wien plant die Anhebung der Ortstaxe für die Hotellerie und Übernächtigungen von derzeit 3.2% auf schrittweise 5% (nächstes Jahr) und dann ab 2027 auf 8%.

Die Erhöhung trifft dabei nicht nur ausländische Touristen, sondern die Steuer muss auch von Österreichern bezahlt werden, die zum Beispiel eine Konferenz in Wien besuchen wollen. Auch die private Vermietung mittels airbnb ist von dieser Steuererhöhung betroffen.

Die Ortstaxe fällt übrigens auf den Netto-Preis pro Übernachtung an. Wenn zum Beispiel ein Zimmer 100 Euro netto kostet, fallen dann zusätzlich ab 2027 8 Euro pro Nacht an Ortstaxe und 10 Euro Umsatzsteuer an. Insgesamt entspricht das einer Steuerbelastung von 18% auf das Grundbedürfnis Übernachten.

Die Umsatzsteuer auf Nächtigungen wurde übrigens während 2020 auf 5% gesenkt und 2022 dann wieder auf 10% erhöht.

Zu bedenken ist auch, dass Touristen ohnehin viel Steuern während ihres Aufenthalts zahlen und auch erheblich zur Wirtschaftsleistung der Stadt beitragen.

Das Problem ist, dass die Bundeshauptstadt hoch verschuldet ist und sich die Sozialausgaben (Mindestsicherung etc.) für Hunderttausende Flüchtlinge, Migranten nicht mehr leisten kann.

Mit der Anhebung auf 8% wird Wien weltweit eine der höchsten Ortstaxen einheben. In Berlin wurde die Ortstaxe auf 7.5% erhöht und im hochverschuldeten Frankreich, in Paris muss man sogar ungefähr 15 Euro pro Nacht bezahlen.

Finde diese Ortstaxen sind eine Unart, der Staat nimmt schon genug Steuern durch Übernächtigungen und Tourismus ein.
