Vienna Hive Meetup: Splinterlands Drama
Gestern haben wir uns an der Alten Donau in der "La Crêperie" getroffen.
@stayoutoftherz hat von den jüngsten Entwicklungen um das Splinterlands Proposal berichtet. Anscheinend wurden Witnesses unter Druck gesetzt, das Proposal zu unterstützen bzw. auf keinen Fall das Return Proposal zu voten.
Das umstrittene SL Proposal hat kurzfristig die Schwelle gefundet zu werden überschritten, aber durch die Votes auf das Return Proposal wurde das jetzt wieder vorläufig gestoppt.
In der Zwischenzeit sind nämlich die Votes auf das Return Proposal deutlich gestiegen (von 26M auf 29M), auch @pharesim soll für das Return Proposal gevotet haben.
Unabhängig davon, ob ein Proposal sinnvoll ist oder nicht, wer nicht auf das Return Proposal votet, überlässt die Entscheidung Anderen und damit sinkt die Schwelle, ab der Proposals gefundet werden. Manchmal so weit, dass nur einige wenige Wale entscheiden können, was mit den Funds im DHF passiert.
In der Zwischenzeit hat sich auch @aggroed zu Wort gemeldet und es gibt ein Follow-Up, wofür das Geld verwendet werden soll, aber so ganz schlüssig ist es immer noch nicht, warum SL jetzt plötzlich eine halbe Million braucht, obwohl sie weiterhin Tausende Packs und Promo-Karten verkaufen.
Die Splinterlands-Community auf Hive hat in den letzten Jahren bereits Millionen Dollar in das Game investiert.

Yesterday we met at “La Crêperie” on the Old Danube.
@stayoutoftherz reported on the latest developments surrounding the Splinterlands Proposal. Apparently, Witnesses were pressured to support the Propsoal and not to vote for the Return Proposal.
The controversial SPL Proposal briefly crossed the threshold of being funded, but the votes on the Return Proposal have now put a temporary stop to this.
In the meantime, the votes for the return proposal have increased significantly (from 26M to 29M), and @pharesim is also said to have voted for the return proposal.
Regardless of whether a proposal makes sense or not, those who do not vote for the return proposal leave the decision to others and thus the threshold at which proposals are found decreases. Sometimes to such an extent that only a few whales can decide what happens to the funds in the DHF.
In the meantime, @aggroed has also spoken up and there is a follow-up on what the money will be used for, but it is still not quite clear why SL suddenly needs half a million now, even though they continue to sell thousands of packs and promo cards.
The Splinterlands community on Hive has already invested millions of dollars in the game over the last few years.

This topic is generating a lot of controversy in Hive and we are seeing things that are not pretty.
Ich halte #Splinterlands und die Tatsache, daß sich so viele Hivians dran klammern statt sich auf das Kerngeschäft, dem Bloggen zu konzentrieren für ein großes Unheil und den Untergang von Hive, wenn es sich nicht bald davon lösst.
Ist schwer zu sagen was richtig/besser ist. Prognosen sind schwierig, besonders wenn sie die Zukunft betreffen. Ich habe aber für das Proposal von @splinterlands gestimmt. Denke es hätte mehr Nachteile wenn sie gehen. Und dieser Post hat einige gute zukünftige Punkte vorgebracht (Splinterlands „powered by Hive“, Hive Academy etc):

Im Follow Up gibt es ein paar gute Punkte, aber irgendwie kommt es mir nicht richtig vor, dass nach den Millionen Einnahmen jetzt Hive dafür zahlen muss, auch Nicht-Gamer. Wenn sie bis jetzt mit viel größeren Einnahmen kein Marketing zusammengebracht haben, wieso jetzt auf einmal. Wenn sie eine neue Promo Karte machen würden, könnten sie wieder Hunderttausende Dollar einnehmen. Die letzten Promo Karten haben sich überraschend gut verkauft.
Auch alles richtig. Ich sag ja, schwere Entscheidung. 🤷🏼♂️

I like that everyone is coming out very transparently about the drama. I think they are all very smart and honest gentlemen and this won't turn into a long term feud (hopefully).
I'm a full time supporter of Splinterlands over everything, but I don't like the idea of buying/demanding votes for the proposal.
It has always been a slush fund for the staked elite to manage, in my opinion.
No surprise really. Did we get to decide to fork STEEM and set the community asunder? The staked governance was shown to be flawed. So much so that the creator, Dan, even walked away from it. Like a disfunctional family, we stay together because of our love of the tribe.
My personal choice was to support the SPL Proposal. Having never played the game, my reasoning was that the loss of Splinterlands would be a blow to the HIVE project.
At the same time my witness votes were modified to open up a vote for @engrave who has gained much respect from me for standing up to the Fork Cabal. A Cabal who cared less about splitting our community asunder than to ensure they retained their lucrative control of minting.

There is not much control over the fund and the proposals are not accountable to the community. There is little we can do.
I invested about 500 USD in SL. I think SL leaving Hive would lead to a one-time drop in the price of our currency. But I don't see the long term benefit of SL to Hive.
Sehr schwieriges thema.
Grundsätzlich verstehe ich auch nicht warum da jetzt die allgemeinheit dafür zahlen soll, das kommt mir echt so vor wie in der FIAT welt, gewinne privatisieren, verluste subventionieren.
Ganz abgesehen davon befinden sich auf diversen splinterlands konten noch jede menge Hive, ok derzeit ist der kurs sehr tief da will man nichts verkaufen, aber wenn das nur ein wenig anzieht im nächsten bullenmarkt, dann sind das wieder lawinen.

Genau so kommt es mir auch vor, Gewinne privatisieren, Verluste "verstaatlichen" 🙈 und auch wie das gemacht wurde, war nicht sehr geschickt, Follow Up ist ein bisschen besser, hat ein paar Goodies für Hive, aber auch nicht ganz überzeugend.

I agree with it. :)
I think the drama is expected. Splinterlands helped out Hive a lot but the way that they threaten to leave the chain doesn't bode well. I think it is valid to know exactly where the money is going and how that money is going to change things around.
Wieso unterstützen die Spieler die am meisten von SP profitieren , genau jetzt nicht SP??
Und wie du schriebst, zig Millionen sind scheinbar verschwunden, ...
Aber es sind ja noch viele andere prospals die äußerst fragwürdig sind...
