Netflix to buy Warner Bros, HBO (excluding CNN)? Mega merger failed last minute, as Paramount outbid Netflix.
Habe am Wochenende eine Email von Netflix erhalten, in dem sie angekündigt haben, Warner Bros und HBO fix zu kaufen. An CNN wären sie vermutlich weniger interessiert, eher an dem Streaming-Geschäft von HBO und an IPs wie Game of Thrones, The Big Bang Theory oder Harry Potter.
Das war am Samstag, als der Deal zwischen Netflix und Warner Bros bereits ausgemachte Sache war. Jedenfalls schien es so. Jetzt ist wieder alles anders. Der Mega-Deal ist in letzter Minute geplatzt.
Paramount hat ein noch höheres Angebot inkl. dem Sender CNN in Höhe von $30 je Aktie bzw. 108 Milliarden unterbreitet.
Da es auch um den Fernsehsender CNN geht, gibt es auch eine politische Komponente. Die US-Administration wäre eher hinter dem Paramount-Deal statt dem Netflix-Merger.
Für Netflix-Kunden wäre der Deal eine große Sache, da man mit einem Schlag noch mehr Content bekommen würde, und man müsste einen Dienst weniger abonnieren.
Andererseits besteht die Gefahr, dass Netflix die IPs von Warner Bros noch stärker mit dem Woke-Mind-Virus infiziert, als das jetzt schon in Hollywood der Fall ist.
Was sagt ihr dazu? Denkt ihr, dass sich Netflix verkalkuliert hat? Wer wird den Kampf um Warner Bros, HBO und auch CNN gewinnen?

I received an email from Netflix over the weekend announcing that they were set to acquire Warner Bros and HBO. They were less interested in acquiring CNN, and more in HBO's streaming business and IPs such as Game of Thrones, The Big Bang Theory, and Harry Potter.
That was on Saturday, when the deal between Netflix and Warner Bros. was already a done deal. At least, that's how it seemed. Now everything has changed again. The mega deal fell through at the last minute.
Paramount made an even higher offer, including CNN, of $30 per share, or $108 billion.
Since it also involves the CNN, there is a political component. The US administration would be more likely to support the Paramount deal than the Netflix merger.
For Netflix customers, the deal would be a big deal, as they would get even more content in one fell swoop and would have to subscribe to one less service.
On the other hand, there is a risk that Netflix will infect Warner Bros' IPs with the woke mind virus even more than is already the case in Hollywood.

The political angle, because of CNN, will likely play more in favour of Paramount. I'm sure Netflix didn't anticipate the move by Paramount otherwise the deal might have worked or they wouldn't have embarked on it in the first place.

I think any context in which one person/entity owns all outlets of expression is dangerous af. I don't know that it's a case of miscalculating, on Netflix's part, more of 'who dares, wins'. I do believe they may be in a mindset that tells them they can actually own everything (and they might not be wrong).
Me, I think it's just the latest intallment in an ongong battle between the two sides growing more and more defined in our Western society.

Da würde ich mich nicht zu früh freuen, irgendwie muss das Geld ja wieder rein kommen, dann gibt es bestimmt ein Plus Plus Sternchen Mega Super Premium sonstwas Abo, wo es dann drin ist.
Irgendwie macht doch jeder noch ein Zusatz Ding auf wo es nochmal extra Sachen gibt, für nochmal Extra Kohle.

Das schlimme daran ist, das es politisch wird. Es gibt ja Hinweise darauf, daß man bzw. Das Trump-Gefolge CNN so beeinflussen will.

I'm going to Netflix
I have no idea, but I think its a losing battle. The wars to get more content just seems more costly, and it depends on who is willing to shill out more money. It's still a losing cause to subscribe to so many places, and I think it just depends.
