Netflix price increase, this is how much Netflix costs in Austria (as of October 2024). How much does a Netflix subscription cost in your country, is it worth?
Habe am Montag jetzt auch eine Preiserhöhung bei Netflix erhalten.
Der Basis- und Standard-Tarif erhöht sich um jeweils 1 Euro, der Premium-Tarif sogar um 2 Euro pro Monat.
Damit kostet ein Standard-Abo jetzt 13.99 statt wie bisher 12.99 Euro.
Vor Corona kostete das Abo übrigens nur 11.99 (bis September 2020) bzw. Anfang 2019 sogar nur 10.99.
Von Anfang 2020 gerechnet wäre das jetzt eine Preissteigerung um 17%. Verglichen mit den Erhöhungen in der Gastronomie und bei Lebensmittel eigentlich ein Schnäppchen 😂
Diesmal musste man den neuen Preis sogar extra in der App bestätigen. Es wurde ein Popup angezeigt, das man entweder bestätigen oder ablehnen konnte. Eine Ablehnung hätte den Tarif aber gekündigt.
Denke das ist eine Vorsichtsmaßnahme, da Netflix in Österreich vor Kurzem einen Prozess mit der Arbeiterkammer wegen unzulässiger Preiserhöhungen verloren hat und den Kunden 30 Euro zurückzahlen musste.
Mit 14 Euro pro Monat ist Netflix aber immer noch billiger als die Zwangsgebühr für den ORF. Die Haushaltsabgabe kostet in Österreich je nach Bundesland zwischen 15.30 (Wien) und 20 Euro (Steiermark) im Monat. Abmelden kann man sich vom ORF seit 2024 nicht mehr.

I too received a price increase from Netflix on Monday.
The basic and standard plan have increased by 1 euro each, the premium plan by 2 euros per month.
This means that a standard subscription is now EUR 13.99 instead of the previous EUR 12.99.
Before corona, the subscription only cost €11.99 (until September 2020) or even just €10.99 at the start of 2019.
Calculated from the beginning of 2020, this would be a cumulative price increase of 17%. Actually a bargain compared to the inflation in restaurants and food 😂
This time you even had to confirm the new price in the app. A pop-up was displayed that you could either confirm or reject. Rejecting it would have canceled the subscription however.
I think this is a precautionary measure, as Netflix in Austria recently lost a lawsuit with the Chamber of Labor due to unlawful price increases and had to refund customers 30 euros.
However, at 14 euros per month, Netflix is still cheaper than the compulsory fee for state television (ORF) in Austria. The household fee in Austria costs between 15.30 (Vienna) and 20 euros (Styria) per month, depending on the federal state. You can no longer unsubscribe from state TV in Austria since 2024.

I just use stremio instead. Its like watching torrents in cloud, so you also don't need to download it... But so, you gotta enable these sources extensions that you are used to take, and then it gotta have seeders anyway.
Bei uns ist es schon etwas her, daß die es auf 9,99 von 7,99 erhöht haben. Ich hatte ja noch ne alte Version, bei der ich kur 1 Stream mit geringerer Auflösung hatte, was aber auslangte. Fernseher hat ja schon paar Jahre hinter sich.
Läuft aber nun noch pasr Tage. Habe Netflix, Disney und RTL+ gekündigt. Disney geht nicht mehr und RTL+ läuft noch paar Tage, hatte mich im Datum vertan.
Dann haben wir nur noch Prime. Wenn ich mal Zeit zum Bingen habe, dann hole ich mir was für ein Monat. Aber sobst können die mich mal. !LOL
Überlege ob ich Full HD überhaupt brauche bei Netflix und ob nicht Basic ausreichend ist, da ich alles am Laptop gucke.
Wenn du nur ein Stream brauchst, also kein weiterer zur gleichen Zeit guckt, sollte das völlig langen.

I never used Netflix. I would rather buy pizza or sweets. On tv I only watch euroleague basketball and a few tv series.

The Netflix subscription has been increased in Nigeria since but it is still affordable
I canceled my subscription earlier this year, I just couldn't justify the cost increases among all the streaming services. It's easier for me to just subscribe for a month and binge all the shows I want during that time.
That's also a good strategy, switching between different streaming services.

Die 10, 12, 15 oder was auch immer €/Monat investiere ich lieber anderweitig.
I have not subscribed to Netflix for a while. I tend to subscribe for maybe 1 month a year to catch up on what I want to see. I don't see any point in paying for the service every single month.
I don't subscribe to Netflix, my son does. He believes it's the best.
