Dubai Chocolate Donut now at McDonald's for a reasonable price, will Dubai Chocolate price crash soon?
Haha, sogar bei McDonald's (McCafé) gibt es jetzt einen Dubai-Schokoladen-Donut, zu einem vernünftigeren Preis.
Während viele Händler in Wien noch das 10 bis 15-Fache (!) für eine Dubai-Schokolade verlangen, gibt es jetzt beim McCafé einen Dubai-Donut, der auch nicht viel mehr kostet als ein normaler McCafé-Donut.
Allerdings ist der Donut nicht so knusprig wie die echte Dubai-Schokolade. Mein Favorit ist nach wie vor die Dubai-Schnitte vom Billa (Rewe) um 2.90. Die ist wirklich gut und knusprig.
Was denkt ihr, wird der Preis für Dubai-Schokolade bald crashen? Wie lange wird der Hype noch andauern? Habt ihr schon den Dubai-Donut probiert, eure Meinung?

Haha, even McDonald's (McCafé) is now offering a Dubai chocolate donut, at a more reasonable price.
While many retailers still charge 10 to 15 times (!) as much for a Dubai chocolate than normal chocolate, there is now a Dubai donut at McCafé, which doesn't cost much more than a usual donut McCafé.
However, the donut is not as crispy as the real Dubai chocolate. My favorite is still the Dubai slice from Billa (Rewe) for 2.90. It's really good and crispy.
What do you think, will the price of Dubai chocolate crash soon? How long will the hype last? Have you tried the Dubai donut already?
Habe heute zum ersten Mal Dubai Schokolade probiert. Ist nicht schlecht, aber den krassen Hype ist es meines Erachtens nicht wert. Wenn das wie hier gebräuchlicher und damit günstiger wird, werde ich das bestimmt mal wieder kaufen.

Hab noch keine Dubai Schokolade oder etwas sonstiges probiert. Das ist es mir einfach nicht wert. Ich warte, bis die Preise auf Normalniveau sind.
Sobald ein großer Schokoladenhersteller das zu normalen Preisen anbietet, ist der Hype vorbei, denk ich.
Die Preise gehen ja schon spürbar runter. Problem sind aber die Pistazien und die Schokolade. Beide Rohstoffe sind knapp. Der Preis für Kakao ist im letzten Jahr um 400% gestiegen. Pistazien sind auch stark gestiegen, weil aufgrund der Dubai Schokolade die Nachfrage nicht mehr bedient werden kann. Es gibt Bauern die jetzt auf Pistazien umsatteln, obwohl das Jahrzehnte dauert und noch mehr Wasser verbraucht als der Anbau Avocado....

If the quality of the ones produced at McDonald's is less it's unlikely the price of the real Dubai chocolate donut will crash. Still, McDonald's can market the hell out of their product and make it popular with the people. We will see. Thanks for writing and happy new year.

Also 2,90 würde ich ja noch ausgeben zum Probieren, muss ich mal gucken obs das beim Rewe hier gibt, wenn ich mal an einem vorbei kommen sollte.

One donut for 3.3€ doesn't sound reasonable at all xD, but I guess it is an exclusive thing and depends on which country it is. Austria is quite an expensive place for most Europeans.

Ich habe die von Aldi probiert. Da war viel zu viel Mist drinnen. Das war mein erster Kontakt mit Baumwollöl ( kein Witz ), Palmöl und noch ein anderes ekeliges Öl waren auch dabei. Nach 50 Gramm war mir dann schlecht von dem Ölmix.
So einen Donut würde ich aber testen :-)
Hochwertige Schokolade hat das alles nicht, liebe Zotter Schokalde kostet auch nur einen Bruchteil von der Dubai Schokolade.

Die Dank der verwendeten Pistazien mit Toxinen verseuchten Schokoladenprodukte sollte man nicht anrühren.

I have never tried the Dubai donut, but I am guessing the hype will die down in a few months as people forget it and move on.
