Beyond Meat Collapse, BYND lost 99% of its ATH from 2019, whew that's hefty, why?
Was sagt ihr dazu?

2019: It requires 22 ingredients for the Beyond Burger to replicate the taste and texture of a classic hamburger — here's what they are

Beyond Meat is still around and is a company that produces plant-based, vegan alternatives to meat products such as burgers and has been heavily hyped in recent years.
There were also collaborations with burger chains and the potential was huge.
Founded in 2009, the IPO took place ten years later in 2019, shortly afterwards the share reached its ATH of 239 dollars, but then crashed rapidly and lost another 50% in value this year. The share is currently traded at just $3.
The problem is that the products are actually highly processed foods and perhaps not as healthy as advertised.
It would probably be better to consume the included vegetables, peas, rice etc. fresh and not in this highly processed form. A Beyond Meat Burger has 22 ingredients. Including controversial canola and coconut oil.
What's more, the products are even more expensive than meat, even though only plant-based products are used.
What do you think? Why has Beyond Meat crashed so badly? Do you think the share will recover?

Krasser Absturz. 😟
For many years, I have slowly increased the proportion of vegetables in my diet. Because I'm convinced that this represents a healthier style of eating. As demonstrated by traditional Mediterranean styles of eating. At the same time, I learned about the dangers of ultra processed food. So I was horrified to read the ingredients in many vegetarian products.
Now, I see that trend has escalated. Especially with many people adopting a so-called Vegan diet. But my limited knowledge of Veganism tells me that it's all about respect for living creatures. Including respect for oneself. So I fail to see how consuming a chemical cocktail every day shows any level of respect.
I'm glad to read that Beyond Meat is failing. As I always referred to it as "Beyond Belief"

Prices are simply too expensive. It doesn't make sense when you can actually buy meat cheaper. And its all process unhealthy !
22 ingredients is so bad, ultra processed and for sure not health

Honestly, had not heard that name in a long time and thought it maybe had gone bankrupt.
Heftig. Auf diesen ungesunden Mist verzichte ich gerne.
Wow that's a huge drop! I wasn't aware. I remember all the hype when it first IPO'd. I never tried their burger myself. It seems that a lot of those types of products are losing favor these days.
Why am I not surprised haha. People wanted a healthy alternative, not a lab experiment with a fancy label. Once the hype wore off, reality kicked in. Too processed, too pricey and too forgettable haha
Diet is largely a matter of fashion. It is very much influenced by completely unsuspected influences. In the Middle Ages, the healthiest food was considered to be that which was closest to God. That is, birds. Conversely, what grew underground was attributed to the devil. That's why peasants in Europe refused to grow potatoes for so long.
Today, something else is considered healthy. Who knows what will be considered healthy in 500 years.

I think it may be doomed as people shy away from the processed foods. It's also expensive which doesn't bode well for long term growth. Glad I don't own any shares!
That is a massive drop from the time it started, I think it may not recover to the top anymore
Gut abgerauscht.

I don't think it will recover at all. They lied to people about their food and their reputation is in the gutter. The price just doesn't seem worth it when you consider how much processed stuff is in it.
Yeah, at the end of the day it falls under the highly processed food category, which is a big market though, but the problem is it's probably not that popular under the vegan, nutrition/health-aware folks.
