Air quality in Vienna got significantly better in summer, but PM 2.5 (particulate matter) levels still more than double the WHO guidelines.
Was sagt ihr dazu? Was wäre euch wichtiger, Luftqualität oder weniger Hitze? Was sind eure PM2.5-Werte im Sommer?

The air quality in Vienna has improved significantly in summer, I hardly need my air purifier anymore. At least, that's what I thought.
As predicted, the air quality improved significantly at the end of the heating season in April.
Today it is very hot and windless, which is rather unfavorable for air quality.
In the 7th district, the Google Weather app (weather.com) currently shows a PM2.5 pollution level of 15.75 micrograms/m^3.
In my apartment, with the windows tilted open, my device measures 10 μg/m^3.
Now brace yourselves, that's still twice as much as the WHO recommendation.
The WHO has lowered the PM2.5 particulate matter guideline for 2021. These are now 5 μg/m^3 on average for the year, which is only half of what we currently have under relatively favorable conditions.
According to the WHO, the 24-hour exposure should not exceed an average of 15 μg/m^3.
I think this value is very difficult to achieve for a large city, although Vienna compares very favorably with other cities.
Air quality is currently particularly poor in Dubai, at 79 μg/m^3.
Incidentally, it is more difficult to filter the air with the windows open in summer.
If the air quality deteriorates dramatically in summer, you could perhaps use an air conditioner with an integrated air filter. This would be necessary in Dubai anyway because of the heat.
What do you think? Are you considering investing in an air conditioner or air purifier? What would be more important to you, air quality or A/C? What are your PM2.5 levels in summer?
I'd kill to be under an air conditioner right now.
Average here too, it's yellow the light

This is the air condition here in my town, this is considerably a small town actually, pretty bad considereing it is a small town compare to the capital city of yours.
but most of us usually choose AC, as it is mostly hot here in my place, and the awareness of air pollution here in my country is not that much.

With the heat and still air, even a good purifier doesn't seem to work. It's pretty difficult to stay under those WHO levels in the summer, especially with windows open.
Yesterday, public transportation was free in my city to make air cleaner with less cars the thing is that they "air is good/bad" but based on what ?

I think that, nowadays, ACs are a necessity.
I think having a great air conditioner at home would be a huge help to beat the heat in summer
I agree on the idea to use an air conditioner with an integrated air filter to make the air more better
Definitely air quality over A/C, because it would not make much sense to have just an A/C when it's hot without inputting an air purifier to filter out the pollution.
It’s good to see Vienna’s air quality getting better, but it’s still worrying that it’s above WHO limits. Finding a balance between keeping cool in summer and keeping the air clean is definitely a tricky challenge.
The summers are quite hot and good quality refrigerator generators and ACs can reduce them.
So, so.

I haven't bothered with air quality, but I think its nice to see that the quality has gotten better for you.
