The sun rises every day
from under and behind the same bridge
on which the city races all day
and at night silence lingers
In an attempt to curb the growing sobs
an old woman coughs
an agitated young woman shakes
her drunken husband, who has collapsed

her lament stirs all the rickshaws and carts parked on the bridge
