No amount of money is enough. Contentment is the key

Two days ago, when I stumbled on this week's prompt, I began to laugh. To me it was funny and at the same time thoughtful. I imagined how the moderator was able to come up with this prompt. On the other hand, I saw the prompt as a call for contentment because from what it is, I don't think a certain amount of money can be enough for someone. Well, that's my thought, though different people have different thoughts about sensitive issues like this.

It reminds me of the year 2024 where I had a good amount of money, despite the plans I put in place to make good use of the money, I ended up exhausting the money,

No matter how much money is in my bank account, it is not enough to make me stop worrying. I have come to realise that the more I make money, the more my needs and wants become unsatisfied. I think this is how humans are programmed to function. If it weren't so, by now many people would have ceased from making money. Looking at the likes of wealthy men in our society, despite the amount of money they have made, some in millions, some in billions yet they are still finding money. This only points to one fact that money is never a satisfying element.

No amount of money can make a person stop looking for money or stop worrying about money. The more money comes the more problems also increase. There's an adage in my local parlance that says “big man, big trouble” that is to say, more money, more problems and challenges.

Many people, even with huge amounts of money in their bank accounts, are still facing some challenges. Some worry even more than those without money. Many crying for lack of money will soon realise that having enormous money does bring satisfaction, but a desire to make more money.

This is simple enough for people to understand but a lot of people think that money can satisfy their yearnings and longings. The truth is that people should learn to be satisfied with what they have because when contentment is not practised, one is bound to do one evil or the other to make money. In the long run, when this money has been made one will come to understand that it doesn't bring satisfaction.

What I want is a stable source of income where I can possibly take care of my needs. Basic needs like food, clothing, shelter, and a good education. Even the Bible tells us that having food and raiments, one should be satisfied. It also added that Godliness with contentment is a great gain.

Contentment is key, not the amount of money one has.
