Last week I found this coffee that I hadn't seen on store shelves for a while. I always found all kinds of brands, both national and international, but I hadn't seen this one again, not in the supermarkets I usually go to. And since I was curious about it ever since it was recommended to me, I bought the half-kilo (500-gram) package that was available, hoping it would be totally worth it. My friend insisted I should buy this coffee because the flavor was incredible, so I decided to take his advice.

My friend is from the Venezuelan Andes, and he told me this coffee is very popular there. Reading the label, I realized it's indeed a 100% Venezuelan product, made in the state of Trujillo, which I really appreciate. It also says the beans are lightly roasted. I'm not a barista, so I don't know much about coffee technicalities, just about flavor, haha. So I immediately made myself a cup in a percolator to see what it tasted like.

My friend was right, I absolutely loved the aroma and the intense flavor. I wanted to drink it straight, without adding milk or spices like cinnamon or vanilla, to truly appreciate the authentic taste, and it didn't disappoint at all. It's an intense coffee flavor with some fruity notes. I don't know how to describe it, but it reminded me a lot of a Colombian coffee brand called Gallo Rojo, which also has a similar flavor. And Colombian coffee is known for being among the best in the world, but the coffee from my country (Venezuela) is certainly holding its own.

It also has a good caffeine boost because it really kept me active throughout the day, and this is something that hasn't happened to me with other coffee brands. I don't know if it's because I'm so used to coffee that caffeine doesn't affect me and I can even drink it at night without it affecting my sleep, but this cup of "La Protectora" coffee really gave me energy.

I definitely recommend it too; now I understand why my friend likes it so much. Next time I buy coffee, I'll definitely get this brand again.

La semana pasada encontré este café que yo tenía tiempo sin ver en los anaqueles de los comercios, siempre encontraba de todos las marcas entre nacionales e internacionales, pero esta no la había vuelto a ver, al no en los supermercados a los que voy siempre, y como la verdad es que sentí curiosidad desde que me lo recomendaron, entonces compré la presentación que había, la de medio kilo (500 gramos) esperando que valiera completamente la pena, pues mi amigo me insistió mucho en que debía comprar este café porque el sabor era increíble, así que decidí hacerle caso.

Mi amigo es de los Andes venezolanos, y me dijo que este es un café que se consume mucho allá, y leyendo la etiqueta del empaque me doy cuenta que efectivamente es un producto 100 % nacional, venezolano, hecho en el estado Trujillo, y esto es algo que de verdad me agrada. Por otra parte dice que los granos tienes un tueste fino. Yo no soy barista, así que no sé mucho de tecnicismos en el café, solo sé del sabor, jeje, así que enseguida me dediqué a prepararme una tasa en cafetera greca para comprobar que tal estaba el sabor.

Mi amigo tenía razón, me gustó muchísimo el aroma y el sabor intenso que tiene. Quise tomarlo solo, sin añadirle ni leche ni especies como canela o vainilla para percibir el sabor auténtico, y la verdad es que no me decepcionó para nada, es un sabor intenso a café pero con algunos toques afrutados, no sé como describirlo, pero me recordó mucho a una marca de café colombiano que se llama Gallo Rojo, el cuál también tiene un sabor símilar, y eso que el café colombiano es conocido por ser de los mejores del planeta, sin embargo el café de mi país (Venezuela) no se está quedando atrás para nada.

Además tiene una buena carga de cafeína porque realmente me mantuvo activo durante el día, y esto es algo que no me ha sucedido con otras marcas de café, no sé si es porque yo estoy tan habituado al café que la cafeína no me afecta e incluso puedo tomarlo por las noches sin que afecte mi sueño, pero esta taza de café "La Protectora" realmente me dio energías

Definitivamente yo también lo recomiendo, ahora entiendo porque a mi amigo le gusta tanto. La próxima vez que yo vaya a comprar café seguramente volveré a adquirir esta marca.
