Today I bring for you a true classic of literature in general, a work that brings up many elements such as revenge, rivalries and love, but also of the consequences it can bring to society and especially to two families: Montague and Capulet, all that. Romeo and Juliet is one of the plays you have to read at least once in your life.
Hoy traigo para ustedes un verdadero clásico de la literatura en general, una obra que saca a colación muchos elementos como la venganza, las rivalidades y el amor, pero también de las consecuencias que puede traer a la sociedad y en especial a dos familias: Montesco y Capuleto, todo eso. Romeo y Julieta es una de las obras que tienes que leer al menos una vez en la vida.
The story begins when two young people fall madly in love, it was a love that arose at first sight, Romeo decides to visit Juliet to profess his love with the moon as a witness, but then both discover that their love is destined to misfortune because they both belong to rival families, Juliet is from the Capulet family and Romeo from the Montague family, and although they both regret it at first because their surnames are the only bridge that separates them, they finally decide to go against their precepts, so with the help of some accomplices they end up getting married but a misunderstanding causes a real chaos.
La historia comienza cuando dos jóvenes se enamoran perdidamente, fue un amor que surgió a primera vista, Romeo decide visitar a Julieta para profesarle su amor con la luna como testigo, pero entonces ambos descubren que su amor está destinado a la desdicha pues ambos pertenecen a la familias rivales, Julieta es de los Capuleto y Romeo de los Montesco, y aunque ambos se lamentan al inicio pues sus apellidos son el único puente que los separa, finalmente deciden ir contra sus preceptos, de modo que con la ayuda de algunos cómplices terminan casándose pero un malentendido provoca un verdadero caos.
The work is written in playwriting format, as it is actually a work made to be performed in theater, rather than read, so I can honestly say that I do not like this format and I enjoy the experience better watching the play on stage, however reading is a more personal experience and allows you to turn the pages and go back if you did not understand something and need to read it again. The predominant genres are drama and romance and although it was written many years ago by the great William Shakespeare, it explores themes that are still relevant today such as hatred and revenge, but also the power of reconciliation of these two families through the love of their children.
La obra está escrita en formato dramaturgia, ya que es en realidad una obra hecha para ser representada en teatro, más que leída, por eso honestamente les puedo decir que no me gusta mucho este formato y que e disfruta mejor la experiencia viendo la obra en escena, sin embargo lerla es una experiencia más personal y te permite poder pasar las páginas e ir hacia atrás si acaso no comprendiste algo y necesitas leerlo de nuevo. Los géneros predominantes son el drama y el romance y a pesar de que fue escrita hace muchísimo años por el gran William Shakespeare, explora temas que aún hoy en día están vigentes como lo es el odio y la venganza, pero también el poder de la reconciliación de estas dos familias a través del amor de sus hijos.
One of the biggest lessons you learn when reading this book is that hatred and revenge become a vicious circle that never ends, only when you realize that you are really losing more than you gain is when you can give room for reflection, (if pride does not speak louder than the ability to understand) but it is really very frustrating is the ending of the play, because you realize that everything was caused by the negative feelings that dragged the families for generations and that dragged people who did not even know why they fought each other, but at the same time the fatal outcome happened because of a misunderstanding. However, I believe that Shakespeare's aim was precisely to generate a great impact on the audience by showing the consequences of hatred and arrogance.
Una de las mayores lecciones que aprendes al leer este libro es que el odio y la venganza se convierten en un círculo vicioso que no termina nunca, solo cuando te das cuenta que realmente estás perdiendo más de lo que ganas es cuando puedes dar cabida a la reflexión, (si es que la soberbia no habla más fuerte que la capacidad de entendimiento) pero realmente es muy frustrante es final que tiene la obra, porque te das cuenta que todo fue provocado por los sentimientos negativos que arrastraron las familias por generaciones y que arrastraron a personas que ni siquiera sabían porqué luchaban entre sí, pero al mismo tiempo el fatal desenlace ocurrió por un malentendido. Sin embargo creo que el objetivo de Shakespeare era precisamente generar un gran impacto en la audiencia mostrando las consecuencias del odio y la soberbia.
As I said this is a book that you should read at least once in your life, full of many valuable lessons, a way to see love as a healing force and as a bridge that serves to destroy emotional gaps. Thank you very much for reading, I send blessings to all of you and wish you a wonderful weekend.
