Una vez más me uno a una de las iniciativas de nuestra comunidad, en esta ocasión para mostrarles algunas de las decoraciones de mi hogar, aunque algunas de ellas ya fueron mostradas por mi esposa @carmen1659, incluso algunas que fueron hechas por sus propias manos, ya que a pesar de que a mi me gusta muchísimo ver la casa decorada de navidad, la creatividad nunca fue mi fuerte, así que admiro mucho la capacidad que tiene ella para pensar en las decoraciones que va a hacer, y cada año nos sorprende con algo distinto, de hecho todo nuestro árbol de navidad está lleno de muñequitos y decoraciones que ella misma ha hecho con retazos de tela y material reciclable en su mayoría.
Once again, I'm joining one of our community's initiatives, this time to show you some of my home decorations. Although some of them have already been shown by my wife @carmen1659, including some she made herself, even though I love seeing the house decorated for Christmas, creativity has never been my strong suit. So I really admire her ability to think about the decorations she's going to make, and every year she surprises us with something different. In fact, our entire Christmas tree is full of little figures and decorations that she has made herself with scraps of fabric and mostly recycled materials.

This, for example, is a calendar that we use to count or mark the days in December leading up to Christmas Eve (December 24th). It's located in the hallway that leads to the bedrooms, so when any of us gets up first, we put the marker on the corresponding date. When my youngest daughter was little, I remember she would start crying if anyone did this before her.
Esto por ejemplo es un calendario que sirve para ir contando o marcando los días que llevamos en el mes de diciembre hasta la víspera de navidad (24 de diciembre) Está ubicado en el pasillo que conduce a las habitaciones, así que cuando cualquiera de nosotros se levanta primero, pone el marcador en la fecha correspondiente. Cuando mi hija menor estaba pequeña recuerdo que se ponía a llorar si alguien hacía esto antes que ella.
This decoration has a story behind it. It used to be made entirely of porcelain (the figurines, the bases, everything), and my wife had wrapped it all in paper while it was stored away during the off-season. One day, while I was looking for something in some boxes (I can't even remember what), I grabbed the wrapped item and set it aside. I think I did it rather roughly because I heard something break, and when I opened it, I realized it was that piece. So, you can imagine the lecture I got, haha. But luckily, as I said, my wife is creative and was able to salvage some of the pieces, building a new base for it out of polystyrene (styrofoam).
Esta decoración tiene su historia, y es que antes estaba hecha toda de porcelana (los muñecos, las bases, todo) y mi esposa la había envuelto en papel mientras la tenía guardada por ahí mientras no estábamos en fechas navideñas, pero un día, mientras yo buscaba ya ni recuerdo qué en una cajas, agarré eso que estaba envuelto y lo aparté, pero al parecer lo hice de forma rústica porque escuché que algo se partió y al abrirlo me di cuenta que era esa pieza, así que bueno, ya ustedes podrán imaginar el sermón que me gané, jaja, pero afortunadamente, como les dije, mi esposa es creativa y pudo recuperar algunas piezas, construyéndole una nueva base con poliestireno (anime)
I don't usually buy Christmas decorations, but this is the only one I bought. I found it at a Christmas bazaar we went to because I thought it would be nice to put in the entrance of the house, since it has the phrase "Welcome" on it.
Yo no soy de comprar decoraciones de navidad, pero esta es la única que compré, una vez en un bazar navideño al que fuimos, es que me pareció bonita para ponerla en la entrada de la casa, ya que tiene la frase "Bienvenidos"
It makes me laugh because I don't know if this happens in all houses or just in mine, but here even the bathroom has Christmas spirit because my wife made sure to fill every corner with decorations she made (the toilet, the mirror and even the curtain where she put some baubles). The truth is that I like it because apart from looking nice, it makes you feel that every corner of the home maintains that festive and joyful spirit of Christmas.
Me da risa porque yo no sé si esto pasa en todas las casas o solo en la mía, pero aquí hasta el baño tiene espíritu navideño porque mi esposa se aseguró de llenar cada rincón con decoraciones que hizo, (la poceta, el espejo y hasta la cortina donde puso algunas bambalinas) la verdad es que me gusta porque aparte de que se ve bonito hace que se sienta efectivamente que cada rincón del hogar mantiene ese espíritu festivo y alegre de la navidad.

And well, the only thing I was really involved in was putting up the decorations outside. Every year we put up a shooting star and a reindeer (decorations that all the neighbors on the street have), and that way the street looks really pretty at night. But this year we also added some giant curtains. One of my neighbors made them, and the male neighbors on the street hung them from the wires. And of course, there were the usual suggestions to move the decorations to the right or left, or they'd tell us they were too high or too low, haha.
Y bueno en lo único que sí me involucré como tal fue en la instalación de las decoraciones de afuera, todos los años instalamos una estrella fugaz y un reno (decoración que tienen todos los vecinos de la calle) y de esta manera durante las noches la calle se ve muy bonita, pero este año también incorporamos unas bambalinas gigantes. Las hizo una de mis vecinas, y los vecinos hombres de la calle nos dedicamos a colgarlas de los cables, y por supuesto no faltaron los famosos consejos para que moviéramos las decoraciones a la derecha o a la izquierda, o nos decían que estaban muy arriba o muy abajo, jaja.

De noche la calle se ve muy bonita, pero es una lástima que mi telefono no le haga justicia pues tiene mucha saturación de luces, pero con estas fotos ustedes pueden tener una idea de como se ve.

Todas las decoraciones están hermosas, y lo mejor de todo es que al ser hechas en casa tienen mucho más valor y le dan un sentido especial a todo
