Making some repairs at Mom's house (Final result) [ESP/ENG]

Remember I was telling you that my siblings and I agreed to make some repairs to our mother's house? Well, today I can finally show you the concrete results, and that's something that fills us all with great satisfaction because it was time to give some love to the house that sheltered us all for so many years. And even though our 96-year-old mother is bedridden, blind, and unable to notice the changes, she still feels reassured that her children have dedicated themselves to this task, something that has truly been difficult for us over the years due to the constant rise in the price of the dollar, which obviously makes everything more expensive and therefore makes it difficult to acquire the necessary things for these things. Even so, all of us siblings (both the one living abroad) and those of us who remain in the country, joined together and monthly deposited an amount of money that in the end allowed us to buy all the materials.
¿Recuerdan que yo les estuve contando que mis hermanos y yo nos pusimos de acuerdo para hacer algunas reparaciones en la casa de nuestra madre? Bueno hoy finalmente puedo mostrarles a ustedes los resultados concretos, y eso es algo que nos llena de muchísima satisfacción a todos porque ya era hora de darle un poco de cariño a la casa que nos cobijó a todos por tantos años, y a pesar de que nuestra madre de 96 años está en cama, ciega y no puede percatarse de los cambios, aún así ella se siente tranquila de que sus hijos se han avocado a esta labor, algo que de verdad se nos ha dificultado a lo largo de los años debido a la constante subida del precio del dólar, lo que obviamente encarece todo y por lo tanto cuesta adquirir lo necesario para estas cosas, aún así todos los hermanos (tanto el que está viviendo en el extranjero) como los que permanecemos en el país, nos unimos y mensualmente fuimos depositando una cantidad de dinero que al final nos permitió comprar todos los materiales.
Afterward, some of my siblings and I got to work on the repairs. As I mentioned in the previous post, the porch walls, especially the front walls, were the ones that needed the most attention, so we mixed mortar (sand and cement) to smooth the walls and remove that neglected appearance. We also did the same with the door frame, which was in worse condition. We had to remove a good portion of the old material beforehand, which was already starting to fall off on its own.
Después algunos de mis hermanos y yo nos pusimos manos a la obra con las reparaciones. Cómo les dije en el post anterior, las paredes de el porche, y en especial de la fachada eran las que necesitaban más atención, así que preparamos mezclilla (arena y cemento) para emparejar las paredes y quitarles esa apariencia de descuido, también hicimos lo mismo con el marco de la puerta que estaba en peor estado, aunque previamente tuvimos que retirar buena parte del material anterior que de por si se empezaba a caer por si solo.
When we went to apply the paint, my brothers and I thought about first applying a coat of lime that would serve as a base or "primer", in this way the wall would absorb much less paint, especially in the areas that were previously treated, and it would also give it a more neat and uniform appearance, however, and although we took that precaution, the gallon of paint was not enough, it ran out, leaving the left side of the house unpainted.
Cuando fuimos a aplicar la pintura, mis hermanos y yo pensamos en aplicar primero una capa de cal que serviría como base o "primer", de esta manera la pared absorbería mucha menos pintura, en especial en las zonas que fueron tratadas previamente, y además le daría una apariencia más prolija y uniforme, sin embargo, y aunque tomamos esa precaución, el galón de pintura no fue suficiente, se acabó, dejando la parte izquierda de la casa sin pintar.

So I went to the hardware store where we bought the paint and ordered more, providing the code of the paint they sold us. They made sure to order the exact same shade of blue, and this way we avoided the problem of applying the wrong color. And when the order finally arrived, my sisters also joined the painting day, helping us and having fun in the process. I admire them greatly for being, as they say here in Venezuela, "all-terrain women," since they take special care of our mother, yet they also wanted to lend a hand with this job.
Así que yo me fui hasta la ferretería donde compramos la pintura y solicitamos más, proporcionando el código de la pintura que nos vendieron ellos se aseguraban de encargar el mismo tono de azul, y de esta manera evitamos el problema de aplicar un color erróneo. Y cuando finalmente llegó el pedido, mis hermanas también se unieron a la jornada de pintura, ayudándonos y divirtiéndose en el proceso. Las admiro mucho por ser, como dicen aquí en Venezuela "mujeres todo terreno" ya que se encargan del cuidado especial de nuestra madre, y aún así también quisieron echarnos una mano con este trabajo.

And this was the final result, this is how the facade of the house turned out. We are very happy with this result because it is a far cry from how it looked. Now it not only has a beautiful color, but there are no more cracked and peeling walls. So, we can say that the effort was worth it, thank God.
Y este fue el resultado final, así quedó la fachada de la casa, nos alegra mucho este resultado porque dista mucho de como se veía, ahora no solo tiene un color bonito, sino que ya no hay paredes agrietadas y desconchadas, se puede decir entonces que valió la pena el esfuerzo, gracias a Dios.

Definitivamente en la unión está la fuerza. Que gran trabajo en equipo el que hicieron todos para darle un cariñito a la casa de su mamá. Aunque ella no pueda verlo seguro está contenta por el trabajo de todos sus hijos.
