Hasta que te conocí [Series review] ESP/ENG
Today I want to talk to you about a bio series that I recently saw and that in all honesty I can tell you changed my perception about the singer protagonist of the story, it is Hasta que te conocí, the series that illustrates the life and work of the singer Juan Gabriel and that was released in 2016 with the Colombian actor Julian Roman in the lead role as Juan Gabriel.
Hoy quiero hablarles de una bio serie que vi recientemente y que con toda honestidad les puedo decir cambió mi percepción acerca del cantante protagonista de la historia, se trata de Hasta que te conocí, la serie que ilustra la vida y obra del cantante Juan Gabriel y que fue estrenada en el 2016 con el actor colombiano Julián Román en el papel principal como Juan Gabriel.
The series literally starts from the beginning, not from the singer's birth, but it tells us about the beginning of the romance between his parents, how was his life in the country, how the first songs were born. Alberto Aguilera Valadez was a young bohemian, he had music in his blood but it was not until he arrived at a boarding school when he had his first contact with music at a very early age, it was there where he met Juanito, (his craft instructor) who also taught him to play the guitar and encouraged him to exploit his talent, in fact later on, Alberto would take his name, (Juan) and combine it with his father's (Gabriel) to form his stage name.
La serie inicia literalmente desde el principio, no desde el nacimiento del cantante, sino que nos ilustra acerca de como fue el inicio del romance entre sus padres, como fue su vida en el campo, como nacieron las primeras canciones. Alberto Aguilera Valadez era un joven bohemio, llevaba la música en la sangre pero no fue sino hasta que llegó a un colegio internado cuando tuvo su primer contacto con la música a muy temprana edad, fue allí donde conoció a Juanito, (su instructor de artesanía) el cual además lo enseñó a tocar la guitarra y lo exhortó a explotar su talento, de hecho más adelante, Alberto tomaría su nombre, (Juan) y lo combinaría con el de su padre (Gabriel) para formar su nombre artístico.
What I liked most about this series is that it is 100% authentic, without fictitious characters or scenes, as it happened in the Vicente Fernandez series, which in the end fell into a sort of “magical realism”, but in the case of this series, “Hasta que te conocí”, at the end of each episode there is a space in which the artist himself, Juan Gabriel narrates his experiences which coincide with the episode broadcasted.
Lo que más me gustó de esta serie es que es 100 % auténtica, sin personajes o escenas ficticias, como sí sucedió en la serie de Vicente Fernández, la cual al final cayó en una suerte de "realismo mágico" pero en el caso de esta serie, "Hasta que te conocí", al final de cada episodio hay un espacio en el cual el propio artista, el propio Juan Gabriel narra sus vivencias las cuales coinciden con el episodio transmitido.
Julian Roman's performance left me stunned in the good sense of the word, it was so accurate and so well done that it is hard to believe that he is a Colombian actor, because you can tell he worked a lot on his character, both in the accent and in that particular look that Juan Gabriel had, that expression of tenderness and sadness at the same time. Each of his movements, so particular, were perfectly reminiscent of those of the original artist, so I can say without fear of contradiction that it was a masterful interpretation, like few I have seen.
La actuación de Julián Román me dejó atónito en el buen sentido de la palabra, fue tan exacta y tan bien lograda que cuesta creer que es un actor colombiano, pues se nota que trabajó muchísimo en su personaje, tanto en el acento como en esa mirada tan particular que tenía Juan Gabriel, esa expresión de ternura y a la vez de tristeza. Cada uno de sus movimientos, tan particulares recordaban perfectamente los del artista original, así que puedo decir sin temor a equivocarme que fue una interpretación magistral, como pocas he visto.
The script was great, very well written, respecting every fact of the singer's real life, also they knew how to give a lot of depth not only to the main character, but to others who were also very important in his life, as well as each of his songs, which makes you end up empathizing with him a lot, since you can say that you know him in a deeper and objective way, and in this same way they use the artist's own songs as soundtrack of the series, but each of them sounds at the exact moment with the lyrics that each scene requires to generate a greater impact on the audience, simply admirable.
El guion estuvo estupendo, muy bien escrito, respetando cada hecho de la vida real del cantante, además supieron darle mucha profundidad no solo al personaje principal, sino a otros que también fueron muy importantes en su vida, así como a cada una de sus canciones, lo cuál hace que termines empatizando mucho con él, ya que se puede decir que lo conoces de una forma más profunda y objetiva, y de esta misma manera utilizan las propias canciones del artista como soundtrack de la serie, pero cada una de ellas suena en el momento exacto con la letra que requiere cada escena para generar un mayor impacto en la audiencia, simplemente admirable.
I think I have nothing more to say, only that I invite you to watch this series whether you are a fan of Juan Gabriel or not because you will surely be captivated by his resilience, his perseverance and above all his nobility. Thank you all for your attention, see you another time, God willing.
Creo que no me queda nada más que decir, solo que los invito a ver esta serie tanto si son fanáticos de Juan Gabriel como si no lo son porque seguramente quedarán cautivados con su capacidad de resiliencia, su perseverancia y obre todo su nobleza. Hola @victor2356, a pesar de que no he visto la serie como tal si tuve la oportunidad de ver un resumen de farid dieck sobre ella, y debo decir que fue como si me la hubiera visto entera y sin pausas. Sin duda alguna es una serie que te sensibiliza y cambia tu perspectiva, pues, nos muestra al cantante más allá de lo que veíamos en los escenarios y creo que nunca hubiésemos imaginado todas las batallas que libró este artista en vida.
