Celebrando la Navidad en Familia [ESP/ENG]

Hoy quiero contarles como estuvo mi experiencia celebrando el día de víspera y la navidad con la familia de mi esposa. Usualmente yo siempre paso este día con ellos y todos los 31 de diciembre los paso con mi hermana en mi pueblo, Montalbán, en el oeste del estado Carabobo en Venezuela. Al inicio la tertulia no estaba tan animada porque no había llegado toda la gente, solo estaban mi esposa, mis cuñados y mis hijas. Primero me dediqué a conversar un rato con ellos, a ponernos al día, como dicen por ahí, después me tomé unos tragos con mi cuñado (el hermano menor de mi esposa)
Today I want to tell you about my experience celebrating Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with my wife's family. I usually spend this day with them, and every December 31st I spend with my sister in my hometown, Montalbán, in western Carabobo state, Venezuela. At first, the gathering wasn't very lively because not everyone had arrived yet; it was just my wife, my brothers-in-law, and my daughters. I spent some time chatting with them, catching up, as they say, and then I had a few drinks with my brother-in-law (my wife's younger brother).
Por supuesto no podían faltar las fotos con las decoraciones navideñas de la casa, ya que mi cuñado acostumbra a embellecer la casa durante estas fiestas, cada rincón de la casa tiene muchos detalles navideños que van más allá del árbol tradicional, incluso las ventanas, pasamanos de escaleras y cortinas tienen luces y adornos alegóricos, pero para mi lo más importante es la unión y la calidez de la familia, pienso que son estos momentos los que hacen que la esencia y la energía de la navidad quede impregnada en el ambiente. En otras ocasiones tuvimos navidades no tan alegres, más bien estuvieron opacadas por la tristeza de perder a un ser querido, pero es precisamente eso lo que nos hace valorar los buenos momentos y viceversa, los buenos momentos nos dan esperanza cuando pasamos por momentos difíciles, pero siempre con fe.
Of course, I couldn't leave out the photos of the house's Christmas decorations, since my brother-in-law always goes to great lengths to decorate the house during the holidays. Every corner of the house has Christmas details that go far beyond the traditional tree; even the windows, stair railings, and curtains are adorned with lights and festive ornaments. But for me, the most important thing is the unity and warmth of the family. I think it's these moments that truly infuse the atmosphere with the essence and energy of Christmas. In other years, we've had Christmases that weren't so joyful, overshadowed by the sadness of losing a loved one. But it's precisely these moments that make us value the good times, and vice versa: the good times give us hope when we're going through difficult times, always with faith.
Disfrutamos muchísimo de la cena familiar en la que desde luego salieron a relucir los más exquisitos sabores navideños de la gastronomía venezolana como lo son la hallaca, el pan de jamón, la ensalada de pollo y el asado negro, pero además una de mis cuñadas trajo como postre un riquísimo dulce de lechoza (papaya) y mandarinas, porque al parecer ahora está muy de moda incluir las mandarinas en el menú navideño en lugar de las uvas (fíjense como cambian los tiempos y las tradiciones según el comercio jaja)
We thoroughly enjoyed the family dinner, which certainly showcased the most exquisite Christmas flavors of Venezuelan cuisine, such as hallacas, ham bread, chicken salad, and asado negro. In addition, one of my sisters-in-law brought a delicious papaya and tangerine dessert, because apparently it's very fashionable now to include tangerines in the Christmas menu instead of grapes (look how times and traditions change according to commerce, haha).
Después nos fuimos a la casa de la hermana mayor de mi esposa que está cerquita de la casa de sus padres donde estuvimos cenando, allá nos ofrecieron cena de nuevo pero yo ya no podía con más comida, jaja, y pasamos un rato muy agradable, yo conversando con mis cuñados y luego viendo a los demás jugar juegos de mesa y poniendo el ambiente navideño, la música de fondo y el entusiasmo de los niños hizo el ambiente aún más ameno. Y por último no podía faltar la tradicional foto familiar que se hace cada año.
Afterwards, we went to my wife's older sister's house, which is very close to her parents' house, where we had dinner. They offered us dinner again, but I couldn't eat any more, haha. We had a very pleasant time, me chatting with my brothers-in-law and then watching the others play board games and create a Christmas atmosphere. The background music and the children's enthusiasm made the atmosphere even more enjoyable. And finally, we couldn't miss the traditional family photo that we take every year.
Pasamos un momento agradable y feliz, por eso hoy quiero agradecer mucho a Dios por todas las bendiciones obtenidas en el año, bendiciones tanto espirituales como emocionales y materiales, Dios nos ha dado salud, felicidad y hasta prosperidad en algunas ocasiones, no olviden que lo más valioso que tenemos es nuestra familia y nuestra salud para poder disfrutar de ella. Gracias también a Hive por todas las bendiciones que he podido obtener hasta ahora y por poder formar parte también de esta blockchain de la cuál he aprendido tanto. Les mando un fuerte abrazo cargado de bendiciones y les deseo mucha salud, felicidad y prosperidad para el nuevo año que ya tenemos tan cerca.
We had a wonderful and happy time, so today I want to thank God for all the blessings we've received this year—spiritual, emotional, and material blessings. God has given us health, happiness, and even prosperity at times. Don't forget that the most valuable things we have are our family and our health so we can enjoy them.
