Books I would like to read in 2026 [ESP/ENG]

I consider myself an avid reader. Ever since I learned to read, I've always had a book with me. They've been my companions in elementary school, high school, and during those tedious moments when I worked as a taxi driver waiting for customers. As the years go by, my excitement for reading a new book has only grown, especially in this era where so many more formats have emerged than the classic printed book. And although that will always be my favorite, and I think there's no comparison, I can't deny that I've only been able to find some titles digitally, which has allowed me to enjoy the pleasure of reading them. However, there are still some classics that I haven't yet had the chance to read, but they are precisely my goal for this still-nascent year of 2026.
Yo me considero un lector empedernido, desde que aprendí a hacerlo siempre tengo un libro conmigo, han sido mis compañeros en el colegio, en la secundaria, en mis momentos de tedio cuando yo trabajaba como taxista y me tocaba esperar a los clientes, y a medida que pasan los años la emoción por leer un nuevo libro se ha ido incrementando, sobre todo en esta era en la que han surgido muchos más formatos que el clásico libro impreso, y aunque ese siempre será mi favorito y pienso que no hay punto de comparación, la verdad es que no puedo dejar de reconocer que algunos títulos solo he podido encontrarlos de forma digital, y esto me ha permitido disfrutar el placer de leerlos, no obstante todavía hay algunos que aunque se han vuelto un clásico, yo aún no he tenido la oportunidad de disfrutar de ellos, pero son precisamente el objetivo que tengo para este aún incipiente año 2026.

A classic of fantasy literature, and although I've never been a die-hard fan of the genre, I'd like to give it a try, since I've recently seen many positive reviews of this trilogy. Furthermore, I find stories that involve a journey, a voyage through which the hero or protagonist undergoes significant development, quite interesting. I'd like to delve into the fantasy genre, but not just any book, and the truth is that, aside from the reviews I've seen, Tolkien has also been highly recommended to me as a starting point. I even read that he was a close friend of C.S. Lewis, whom I know because my daughters are avid readers of the Narnia series (which is also starting to pique my interest). In short, I'd like to read The Lord of the Rings saga because I understand it offers a profound reflection on power, and this is something that strongly appeals to me.
Un clásico de la literatura fantástica, y aunque nunca he sido un consumidor empedernido de este género, me gustaría darle una oportunidad, ya que últimamente he visto muchas reseñas positivas acerca de esta trilogía. Por otra parte me parecen interesantes las historias que contienen una travesía, un viaje a través del cuál el héroe o protagonista experimenta un gran desarrollo. Me gustaría iniciarme en este genero de literatura fantástica pero no cualquier libro, y la verdad es que aparte de las reseñas que he visto, también me han recomendado muchísimo a Tolkien como punto de partida, incluso leí que él era un gran amigo de C.S Lewis, a quién conozco porque mis hijas son grandes lectoras de la saga Narnia (la cuál también está empezando a llamar mi atención). En fin, en síntesis, me gustaría leer la saga del Señor de los Anillos porque tengo entendido que tiene una profunda reflexión sobre el poder, y esto es algo que llama poderosamente mi atención.

This is a psychological thriller, and it seems to be one of those novels that keeps the reader on the edge of their seat the whole time (secrets to be revealed, mysteries, tension)—in other words, all the necessary ingredients to capture your attention. It's about a young woman named Millie who has a dark past she's trying to leave behind. She starts working for the wealthy Winchester family, but little by little, things get stranger, especially when the protagonist discovers odd and erratic behavior in Mrs. Winchester. So, all of this sounds like a book that will keep me busy for quite a while (sometimes reading, sometimes putting the pieces together).
Este es un thriller psicológico, parece ser de esas novelas que mantienen al lector en vilo todo el tiempo (secretos por develas, misterios, tensión) es decir, todos los ingredientes necesarios para capturar tu atención. Se trata de una muchacha llamada Millie que tiene un pasado oscuro que pretende dejar atrás, comienza a trabajar para la adinerada familia Winchester, pero poco a poco el panorama se va volviendo más extraño, en especial cuando la protagonista descubre un comportamiento extraño y errático en la señora Winchester. Así que todo esto suena a que es un libro que me mantendrá ocupado un buen tiempo (algunas veces leyendo y en otras armando conjeturas)

I think this book is so interesting because it blends personal development with chaos theory and Jungian psychology. It explores many fascinating hypotheses and theories about how every small action we take in the present has a significant impact on the future, and could even lead to the realization of our greatest desires. All of this demonstrates that life can be shaped by our actions because small changes can generate amazing results. So I'm very curious to see how the author handles all of this, and whether it's a novel with a beginning, middle, and end, or a self-help book grounded in science and psychology.
Este libro me parece muy interesante porque fusiona el desarrollo personal con la teoría del caos y la psicología junguiana, explora muchas hipótesis y teorías interesantes acerca de que todas las pequeñas acciones que hagamos en el presente tienen un impacto significativo en el futuro, incluso podrían llegar a materializar grandes deseos, todo esto demuestra que la vida puede moldearse según las acciones de cada quién porque los pequeños cambios pueden generar resultados asombroso. Así que siento mucha curiosidad por saber como maneja el autor todo esto, y si se trata como tal de una novela con inicio, desarrollo y cierre o es un libro de autoayuda pero con bases científicas y psicológicas.
