[Book Review] Amy, the child of the stars EN/ENG

Today I want to share with all of you what I consider a great teaching and experience that I found when I started reading a children's book by chance. To be honest I did not have great expectations when the book fell into my hands, I read it to kill the tedium while we were at my wife's niece's house, waiting for her son who would arrive home after winning a baseball championship, as we would have a surprise party for him, we should not draw attention to ourselves, So there would be no music or fun until the honoree arrived, so I went to rest a little in the children's room at the request of my niece, and it was there where I found this wonderful book that I will tell you about next, I liked it so much that I even borrowed it to finish reading the last pages that I had left to read.
Hoy quiero compartir con todos ustedes lo que considero una gran enseñanza y experiencia que encontré cuando comencé a leer por casualidad un libro para niños. Para ser honestos no tenía grandes expectativas cuando el libro cayó en mis manos, lo leí para matar el tedio mientras estábamos en casa de la sobrina de mi esposa, esperando a su hijo que llegaría a casa luego de ganar un campeonato de beisbol, como haríamos una fiesta sorpresa para él, no debíamos llamar la atención, así que no habría música ni diversión hasta que llegara el homenajeado, de esta manera me fui a descansar un poco a la habitación de los niños por petición de mi sobrina, y fue allí donde encontré este maravilloso libro del que les hablaré a continuación, me gustó tanto que hasta se lo pedí prestado para terminar de leer las últimas páginas que me quedaban por leer.
Sinópsis
Pedro is a city boy who went on vacation to a coastal area, where he receives a visit from an extraterrestrial child, and according to this book, it is not the first time he visits him, the name of this extraordinary visitor is Ami. Both children board a spaceship in which Ami takes Peter to travel the galaxy through different planets, each one with colorful characters, but the most amazing thing is that this trip ends up changing Peter's perception of his own world (planet earth) because that is precisely Ami's purpose, to share with Peter his teachings about love, peace and harmony with humanity.
Pedro es un niño de ciudad que se fue a pasar vacaciones a una zona costera, en la cuál recibe la visita de un niño extraterrestre, y según este libro, no es la primera vez que lo visita, el nombre de este extraordinario visitante es Ami. Ambos niños abordan una nave espacial en la que Ami lleva a Pedro a recorrer la galaxia a través de diferentes planetas, cada uno con personajes variopintos, pero lo más asombroso es que este viaje termina cambiando la percepción que tiene Pedro sobre su propi mundo (el planeta tierra) porque ese es precisamente el propósito de Ami, compartir con Pedro sus enseñanzas sobre el amor, la paz y la armonía con la humanidad.
The book is full of innocence but at the same time with a lot of depth, in a way that both children, youth and adults can perfectly understand. Ami comes to earth with a clear and accurate purpose, to spread a message of love and peace, not the empty, trite and lacking in arguments message that many children's stories often present, this book instead presents a logical reasoning about what is universal love and why we should feel it, what is the importance of loving each other, to put aside selfishness to start thinking about others. Ami shows Peter that all beings rise spiritually as they reject violence and evil, and in turn shows him different civilizations that have adopted this way of life.
El libro está lleno de inocencia pero al mismo tiempo de muchísima profundidad, de una manera que tanto niños, como jóvenes y adultos pueden comprender perfectamente. Ami llega a la tierra con un propósito claro y certero, difundir un mensaje de amor y paz, no el mensaje vacío, trillado y carente de argumentos que a menudo nos presentan muchas historias infantiles, este libro en cambio presenta un razonamiento lógico acerca de qué es el amor universal y porqué debemos sentirlo, cuál es la importancia de amarnos entre nosotros, de hacer un lado el egoísmo para empezar a pensar en los demás. Ami le muestra a Pedro que todos los seres se elevan espiritualmente a medida que rechazan la violencia y la maldad, y a su vez le muestra distintas civilizaciones que han adoptado este estilo de vida.
The book also talks about the importance of accepting our differences and our place in the world as individual beings (no one is better than anyone else) but what caught my attention the most is that the author involves God himself as an indispensable element in the plot, Ami mentions to Pedro that God is not that being we all imagine with a long white beard because he simply does not have a defined appearance, God is love and that is all that matters, love is the engine that should move the universe, even through simple questions like "Why do you want to take those nuts to your granny? "Peter discovers that he wants to do it so that she will be happy, and he wants her to be happy because he loves her, so in this way he discovers for himself that to love means to desire happiness and to experience satisfaction through the good that we bring about in others.
El libro también habla de la importancia de aceptar nuestras diferencias y nuestro lugar en el mundo como seres individuales (nadie es mejor que nadie) pero lo que más llamó mi atención es que el autor involucra a Dios mismo como un elemento indispensable en la trama, Ami le menciona a Pedro que Dios no es ese ser que todos imaginamos con barba larga y blanca porque simplemente no tiene una apariencia definida, Dios es amor y eso es todo lo que importa, el amor es el motor que debería mover al universo, incluso a través de simples preguntas como "¿Para qué quieres llevar esas nueces a tu abuelita?" Pedro descubre que quiere hacerlo para que ella esté contenta, y él quiere que esté contenta porque la ama, así que de esta manera él descubre por si mismo que amar significa desear felicidad y experimentar satisfacción a través del bien que provocamos en los demás.
The first person narration makes the reading more personal and more fluid, more appealing to the younger or younger readers. I recommend this book because after reading it you are left with a pleasant feeling in your heart, you are filled with positivism and hope because it explores deep themes in a simple way, themes that are also important but go unnoticed, such as peace, love, spiritual evolution and the connection with nature. And despite being a story intended for children, it subtly offers valuable social critiques such as the impact that violence and disconnection with the environment around us can have. The novel has a very relevant focus on personal growth through good deeds, and on the other hand I like that it suggests that there are people like Ami coexisting in our world, "infiltrated" in a certain way in strategic and influential points such as music, literature, politics, sports, etc., since precisely the objective is to save the world from the self-destruction towards which it is heading when it is driven by hatred, selfishness and greed, something that in a way reminds me a bit of the book The World's Greatest Miracle by Og Mandino, which has a very similar concept, even with a first person narrative.
La narración en primera persona hace que la lectura sea más personal y más fluida, más llamativa para los más jóvenes o los más pequeños. Recomiendo este libro porque luego de leerlo te quedas con una grata sensación en el corazón, te llenas de positivismo y esperanza porque explora temas profundos de una manera sencilla, temas que además son importantes pero pasamos desapercibidos, tales como la paz, el amor, la evolución espiritual y la conexión con la naturaleza. Y pesar de ser una historia pensada para niños, sutilmente nos ofrece valiosas críticas sociales como lo es el impacto que puede generar la violencia y la desconexión con el entorno que nos rodea. La novela tiene un enfoque muy relevante en el crecimiento personal a través de las buenas acciones, y por otra parte me gusta que sugiere que hay personas como Ami conviviendo en nuestro mundo, "infiltradas" de cierta manera en puntos estratégicos e influyentes como lo son la música, la literatura, la política, el deporte, etc, ya que precisamente el objetivo es salvar al mundo de la autodestrucción hacia la que se encamina cuando se deja llevar por el odio, el egoísmo y la codicia, algo que de cierta manera me hace recordar un poco al libro El Milagro Más Grande Del Mundo por Og Mandino, que tiene un concepto bastante parecido, incluso con una narrativa en primera persona.
Doing a little more research about the book on the web I realized that this is only part of a trilogy, so I would definitely like to read the others. This was all for today but I hope you liked my review, from all of this I got a great lesson apart from all the ones I exposed in this review “Don't judge a book by its cover”.
Investigando un poco más sobre el libro en la web me di cuenta que este es solo parte de una trilogía, así que sin dudas me gustaría leer los demás. Esto fue todo por hoy pero espero que les haya gustado mi reseña, de todo esto me quedó una gran enseñanza a parte de todas las que expuse en esta reseña "No juzgues un libro por su portada"
