The Serenity of Rural Life vs. the Futurism of Urban Living

In our fast-paced world driven by technological innovation and state-of-the-art infrastructure, it's worth noting that our world still consists of two sides, the urban and the rural areas. I've been fortunate to reside in both neighbors during the course of my life at different points in time, and I must say that both can be so addictive and fun; however, they also have their disadvantages, and in this article I'll be sharing my experience living in both parts of human residence as well as stating their ups and downs based on my perspective.

When I said both have their good sides and can be fun, believe they're, regardless of you being in the rural area or being in the urban ones that have modern technology that can inspire fun, even rural areas have simple acts and tools that can inspire the same in the lives of their residents, and I can say this for a fact because I've resided in both before, and so without further ado, let's delve into the good and downside of the rural areas.

One of the good things about rural areas that I love is the peace and tranquility that comes with that neighborhood. It's just pleasant and satisfying to live in a place with peace of mind, not having to deal with the noise of people, cars, and factory machines disturbing your concentration and the like. Instead, in the rural area, you get less noise and do not have to worry about inhaling carbon from those urban cars and machinery.

Another good thing about rural areas is that they are the closest to nature; having to be blessed with the beautiful works of nature, such as green plants in abundance, rivers, and most of all, fresh food items and fruit that would have been sold at a high rate in urban areas, you'll most likely get them in the rural area at a post-cost or even free because almost everyone is into farming.

Taking about the downside of the rural areas, I'll say one of the absence of access to quality modes of transportation that can lead to delays in meeting up with other activities outside the rural place and the like. I can remember my time at one of those settings; when I want to leave the rural village for an urban city, I might wait at least 2 hours before I'll see a vehicle to transport out. Another down side is the absence of a communication network; I can remember the network was so bad that it affected my communication to the outside world through calls and internet connections.

On the other hand, the urban areas are blessed with state-of-the-art infrastructure, mind-blowing technology, and the like, and offer access to devices that make daily life activities seamless, and one of its good sides is the road network, access to different places, not forgetting a good network for communication, access to first-hand news and information, and technically gadgets that not only entertain us but also help us with our daily chores.

However, urban city downsides revolve around traffic congestion, which leads to delays or makes people have less time to sleep because they need to wake up on time to get on the road and avoid gridlock. Another downside is inhaling carbon dioxide from different cars and the like, exposure to crime and violence, unlike what is present in rural places.

Now, in conclusion, if I were to choose which I prefer to live between urban and rural areas, it's worth noting that although I love both, I'll prefer rural areas because they just come across as pleasant and suit my introverted lifestyle, although I'll most likely wish some of their downsides were corrected, especially in terms of accessibility to transportation, health care facilities, and a good communication network.

One thing I love about rural areas is how there’s food in abundance. And it’s not even junk food. You will eat and eat and eat.😂

That’s one of the reasons I love rural areas in addition to the serenity

I have never lived in a rural area but then I think I agree with you based off the advantages you get from staying there and that is because I have had some people who stay there share some of their stories with me. I would definitely love to visit some of those places someday. Maybe i"ll get posted there for my N.Y.S.C programme. Nice read brother, your post was enlightening as well.

Both areas have their advantages and disadvantages but it is noteworthy to say that urban area is most preferable than rural because of a lot of new inventions introduced most especially technology and the basic knowledge of the utilisation of digital tools which can't be found in a rural area.

To be candid, there is peace living in the rural areas when compared to urban areas. Love is something we cannot run away from in the village. Fresh food and nice nature scenery. I can't imagine the calmness that surrounds the whole village.

It was good to live in the rural area, but then I can't live there any longer.

I understand your perspective and why you chose urban areas, however if some of the basics needs were made available, I'm sure rural will be appealing to many.

Yeah, bad road is really one downside of rural area even lack of clean and healthy water. Struggling with pot holes and muddy road can be a challenge.

But regardless, rural areas also come with its own amazing benefits that urban environments often lack. For instance, rural areas usually have cleaner air, a quieter atmosphere and people tend to support each other and connect easily.
