The Necessity and Nuance of Risk-Taking in Life
Life is a risk, and so is basically almost everything we do therein, from going out to coming, trying, and the like. Despite all of these being risks on their own, we must as individuals be ready to take risks in various stages of our lives, without which it'll be quite difficult to elevate to higher ground and achieve something extraordinary. Despite how important risk-taking seems to be, we can't help but understand that taking some risks can lead to disheartening consequences that would cost us a lot, so what should be done, since taking risks is said to be great and yet dangerous at the same time?
The truth is that, in my opinion, regardless of if you do something or nothing, they're both still seen and categorized as taking a risk. Not doing anything is risky on its own because it comes with grave consequences, while taking risks can also lead to the same result, but it's worth noting that not all risks lead to such, and that's what I'm driving towards: what kind of risk should one take, and what would be the consequences or outcome of taking those risks?
Risks that should be taken or are advisable to take are well-calculated risks whose consequences have been thoroughly vetted, and you can agree for a fact that the benefits you'll get from such are way higher than the potential downside. Amongst such types of risks that can be taken are personal growth risks, which sometimes could revolve around having to leave one's comfort zone, learning a skill, and the like, and these are important because they can go on to aid your growth and bring about expansion.
Another such risk is financial risk that could involve taking a loan or investing in the real estate or stock market and the like; although risky, it can go on to bring about abundant wealth to the individual. Other risks are associated with business and career; for example, some of these risks could be leaving your job for another one in quest of a greener pasture or taking a break to further your studies. All of these can go on to bring about opening more doors of opportunities and even a higher salary.
There are several other forms of risk one can delve into, but now I'd like to talk about things to look out for before taking a risk, one of which is doing proper research so as to understand the risk and benefit associated with it, ensuring the benefit is greater than the consequences, having a backup in case that one goes south, making sure you're not acting on emotions or impulse, and overall making sure it aligns with your goal.
