Let the Wild Remain Wild

Through the years, I've come across lots of videos where people have wild animals as pets and even go on to live with them in the same house. It's just crazy because I can't help but wonder the kind of confidence they must have to do such a thing, knowing fully well those animals are dangerous and can go on a rampage that could lead to something terrible for not just the person but also his entire household and neighborhood. Despite how dangerous it seems, I've seen lots of people who still nurture the idea of having such animals as pets, and seeing this question inquiring about if I can do the same, below is my response.

There are some domestic animals like dogs and cats that people have around the house, and we feel it's safe to have them around, but then some of them have proven to be dangerous, to the point where they attack their owners, the owners' children, or the like. This alone has given me pictures and understanding that animals are unpredictable, so if domestic animals can do that, how much more wild animals that are meant to be in the wild and ought to be dangerous? It just sounds ridiculous to me, and I don't think I can take such a risk regardless of how enticing playing with such wild animals like big cats might seem.

I remember the happening I watched a few years ago on Facebook, where a man had a pet tiger in his house. He had trained the tiger right from when it was little, and he kept on feeding him normal meat, but one day he brought in a pet cat, and the tiger tried to eat the cat. In the process of him trying to prevent the tiger from eating the cat, the tiger ended up biting him, leading to a very serious injury, and yet he didn't call for help but instead went to the hospital to get treated. It was the nurses who noticed the wound and sensed that something must be amiss, leading to his house being raided and the tiger being captured.

So with all of these stories, coupled with the ones about animals that kill their owners, that's why I can't even have such wild animals as pets; I don't even fancy the idea. And talking about if we should have just left these animals to be handled by professionals in the zoo rather than having them as pets at home. I think both are actually very wrong. Because the majority of these wild animals are affected one way or another, because that's not the kind of environment or lifestyle they're used to, they're meant to be free, not caged and locked up like a prisoner, so if at all we want to see this animal, it'll be better if we have more or like an enclosure where this animal can move freely, like they're in the wild.

So that's about it on my take on having wild animals as pets; we should let them be in the wild to live their lives and fulfill the principles of nature. Not put in a zoo.

I can't imagine that the man was protecting the tiger that bite him. I guess he had an emotional bond with the tiger. But then, wild animals can never be domesticated even though we have emotional bond with them

It was ridiculous, he didn't say anything, just looking for excuses not to make people suspicious.

Letting them be in their natural habitat is okay than endangering our lives just because we want to show them love which is not possible. Thanks for sharing
